philosophical, contradictory, and laid back
My self-summary Propose an edit
wow, so this whole thing is in severe need of updating, which I
will do at some point I suppose... I'm bored right now, but just
feeling a little too lazy to actually do it, but consider yourself
warned.
In case you don't know, I spend most of my time in perpetual
insanity, as if my brain was a small corn kernal slowly expanding
under the incessant heat of the microwave of life, and then one day
it will explode into a tasty morsel to serve as a snack to some
massive celestial being. If that scares you, I'm just kidding and I
like long walks on the beach.
hmm, well, Im bad at the whole profile thing, but here goes... I'm
Josh. As far as me, I'm a very laid back person, I get along with
pretty much everyone. I'll try anything once, and I like new
things, but I like the old and comfortable too (to an extent). I'm
one of those people that's up for anything. The best term that
would describe would be Intellectual I think. Im smart (well most
of the time, lol), and I like to be around smart people, I think
there's more to talk about in the world than body parts and
functions (not that its not a more than occasional topic, and
stupidity can be fun too). I love to read, I love music, I love
art, I love movies, love theatre, I love nature, I love to cook, I
love useless trivia that sticks in my brain for no apparent reason,
I love night, I love details, but in all that, my interests can be,
um, less than typical(things that are unique, not just weird). hmm,
yeah, well that's summary enough for now.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Right now I work in a brokerage firm, and while it's a great job,
it's definitely not what I want to do for the rest of my life. I
went to college for a year after high school, but at the time I
didnt know what I wanted (triple major technical theatre, English,
and Psych with a German minor at one point), and it wasnt right for
me. I got a job at a bank, and I moved out of my parents house
completely (best move of my life). After three apartments, seven
roomates, and alot of thinking, I now live very happily on my own
and know exactly what I want out of my life. I am returning to
school as soon as I am able to get my associate degree in business,
and then Im going on to design school (maybe in that order). After
which Im going to get a job at a design firm, and at that time Ill
continue with my education and get my B.A. in business. My ultimate
dream is to own my own design firm that would handle both interior
corporate and home design, with an architechural side as well, and
maybe even event design and planning. More than anything it'll just
take time and patience. O! And I want to go to culinary school by
the time Im fifty five, for no particular reason, other than I like
to cook, just cause I can. Its an ambitious plan, but its not a
dream Im going to give up without a fight. It might not go exactly
as planned, and I think Im flexible enough to be okay with that,
but Im nothing if not determined when I put my mind to it. Another
goal I have is to be a nomad for a while, I dont want to live in
any one city for longer than a year and a half, I want to live lots
of new places, experience lots of new things, which is actually
kind of odd, because I'm supposed to be resistent to change, but
for some reason I cant get enough of it either. Hmm, anyway, there
is a list of places I want to live, it's long, and it's awesome,
and I've already started, and I just recently found a friend that
wants to go with me, which just makes it that much better.
Basically I do want to settle down somewhere, but I want to be sure
it's the right place before I do it, and the only way to find out
is to go everywhere. It's not any easy life, but it would be
exactly that, a life. My life.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Listening, random knowledge, picking up on things, going with the
flow, most things where my fingers or lips are involved, hehe,
reading people, keeping people confused (don't worry, they usually
catch back up), being me.
Being good at things isn't really a problem for me, it's deciding
which things I want to be REALLY good at. I love so many different
things, it makes for a tough choice.
on a practical level, reading, from practice if nothing else, I get
the "O my god, you finished that already?!" comment alot. Gets kind
of annoying actually. O, and I've played the cello for um, over a
decade now, so Im decent at that too.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
hmm, not sure, most people really like my eyes though. My voice or
manner tends to come up too, I guess I put people at ease or
something, Im apparently very easy to talk to.
o, some people notice my piercings too, tho they arent all that
noticeable, I have 6. 3 cartilage, one eyebrow, and both of my
rooks (they're in my ear), and I'm just about to get my tounge
done.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
ooo, favorites are hard for me, my tastes in pretty much everything
are eclectic and usually more than a little unusual. I am a HUGE
fan of books, movies, music, and food though, yeah, getting much
narrower than that though is pretty tough, lol. I tend to love
anything that makes me think. I usually have a very strong opinion,
or no opinion whatsoever, no matter what it is, and I know it when
I see it. Hmm, I'm pretty much interested in some aspects of
everything, so message me about something, and chances are I know
it, know of it, or love something in a general relation to it. And
I'm always up for conversation/discussion about interests, so feel
free to hit me up for any random thing.
just to give an example of how ecclectic my tastes are, heres some
the the music at the top of my list right now: Apocalyptica,
Rasputina, Imogen Heap, Shiny Toy Guns, Drowning Pool, Rise
Against, Cascada, Death Cab for Cutie, Requiem for a Dream, Bach
Cello Suite 1, Nightwish, THe Bravery, Kids in the Way, Hedley,
Frou Frou, Plain White Tees, Madonna, Linkin Park, DJ Tiesto,
Animal Collective, Wicked (Soundtrack...good book too), Phantom of
the Opera, Rob Zombie, Dvorak New World Symphony, Daft Punk, She
Wants Revenge
well, you get the picture...
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
music, books, my brain (not nescesarily my mind, it disappears
entirely sometimes, lol), thought, nature, and music, o god, music,
which means my ipod
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
EVERYTHING!!! philosophical, random, pointless, detail, images,
stories, I love to think about it all. I spend ALOT of time in my
head. Ironically, considering how well aquainted my head is with
the clouds, I'm very down-to-earth. I also spend alot of time
thinking about the fact that I'm a walking contradiction.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
hmm, depends... lately its been taking walks in the woods. late at
night. alone. fun though. and visiting friends I havent seen in
awhile. Also fun.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
hmm, well, I'm pretty much an open book, but one that's in control
of the pages you read. The longer you spend with a book, the more
pages you can turn and read. The book doesnt lie, or hide the
facts, but the story takes time and depth. Thats pretty much how it
works.
Other thing is, I'm different, not in a bad way, though it's hard
to put your finger on exactly what it is at first, and I know alot
of people say that, but in my case, its not always obvious, but
it's true. It's hard to explain, one of my friends once told me
that when she thinks of me I remind her of about 10 other
completely different people she knows, but all at once, and when
she tried to count the number of people she's ever met like me, she
can only ever get up to one finger. The only reason that it's
somewhat private information is because I can be difficult for
people to wrap their head around, many have tried, most have
failed, and I get hurt, so I usually keep it to myself and let
people try and figure me out at their own pace.
You should message me if Propose an edit
...if I seem at all interesting. Thats pretty much the only
qualifier.
