joined the CDC 2 years ago after 20 years w/ the EPA. i had a great run at EPA, but needed a change. the only other thing i could see myself doing is teaching kindergarten.
i'm governed by strong convictions, can't sleep w/out a fan on, once ran a marathon, don't believe everything happens for a reason, make it a point to go skiing every year, am best friends w/ a straight guy, collect currier and ives prints, am okay w/ losing, have a famous younger sibling, enjoy tarrantino films despite my distaste for gratuitous violence, and am fascinated by the power of redemption. my biggest flaw is giving the benefit of the doubt to those who least deserve it.
adventure travel is a passion and i almost always choose the path less traveled. past jaunts have taken me from sydney to st. petersburg, hong kong to helsinki, amsterdam to amman. most recently, a buddy and i spent a month backpacking thru japan, vietnam, cambodia, and disappointing thailand. heading to namibia on a 4-mo. CDC special assignment this summer.
i'm blessed to have been in love twice, particularly when there are good, deserving people who live out their entire lives and never truly taste it. the 2 relationships were high functioning and incredibly gratifying. i'm still close friends w/ both men.
looking for the proverbial boy next door. someone who's masculine, well mannered, monogamous, isn't into the scene, recycles, leads a healthy lifestyle, and has clean fingernails and nice teeth. someone who is an active listener, can be fully present, and is capable of communicating on the hard stuff rather than walking out on an otherwise promising relationship.
