My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a person with very few but very select interests, opinions and quirks that are very dear to me (and no one else). For that reason I have difficulties connecting with other people, let alone finding that special someone. When I came here, it was in the hope of finding people I could get along wiht (or they with me). Unfortunately the people that come are either the same than in rhe real world (meaning: no shared interests) or have the same problem like me, only with other very select interests, opinions and quirks.

In case anyone cares, my very select interests are: cycling & bicycles and movies & tv-shows. My opinions are: no drugs (including alcohol and cigarettes) and no partying. I do not know what my quirks are, but I guess that they are numerous.

Besides that I currently find myself in an odd phase of my life, having finished my degree two years ago and still trying to make any good use of it. At the moment my life is governed by 3 principles that I learned during the last 12 months and that I like to call "the wisdoms of a construction site"... unfortunately I haven't found viable english translations, so here they are in their original form (with an attempt to translate at least the sens)

1) Mal sehen wohin die Reise geht. (wait and see where the journey ends)

2) Dann ist es eben so. (Than that's the way it is)

3) Et kütt wie et kütt. (Things will happen how they happen)

There actually is a fourth principle, but it lacks the wisdom of the other three:

4) "Finders keepers" applies to everything not made from metal, not clearly marked and left unattended for more then 5 minutes. :-D
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am desperatly trying to enjoy life, but life intervenes.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
if I only knew....paralysis by analysis probably. I also was told that the cycling routes I come up with are very nice (if I could only make a living out of that skill :-D)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

don't really like books ... for language learning purposes I am using books by Agatha Christie, Georges Simenon and Ian Fleming.

Movies: all genres except horror/slasher, empirically I seem to be very fond of movies from the '60s, which were a great decade for film: the James Bond movies, spaghetti-westerns from Sergio Leone, the pink panther movies, gems like "Charade"or "Where eagles dare" and a whole bunch of other interesting movies I am omitting right now (like "Funeral in Berlin" or "Bullitt"). Also, the 2006 version of Miami Vice is - for reasons I can not grasp clearly - a very good movie.

House MD (was once the best thing on TV), 30 Rock, Futurama, The Mentalist, Neues aus der Anstalt , That 70s Show (Episode: Happy Jack LOL!) , The West Wing , Modern Family , The Dukes of Hazzard (I got'em this time! :-)) , Boston Legal,, White Collar, les petits meurtres d'Agatha Christie, Justified, Community, Elementary, The Rockford Files, The Newsroom

Orchestral movie scores... Zimmer, Horner, Goldsmith, Williams and the likes.

Tetris, No one lives forever 1, GTA Vice City, Need for Speed Underground 2, Grand Prix 2 (all of them ancient since I have given up gaming)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
RIDING MY BICYCLE(S)! A LOT (5 digit kilometers per year)!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...if I should sell out my ideals by applying for a job that would probably leave me some spare time to have an actual life or retain my ideals and work a low-pay job that consumes all the hours of the day.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am the smartest person I know, but then again I don't know that many people ;-).
