Hello, I have lots of interests, but a few are : taking pictures, going to as many good plays as i can afford, walking up hills and mountains, getting lost because I have been daydreaming, playing poker far too rarely, dicking around, laughing, laughing at people saying stupid things, reading, sleeping, mooching and getting too excited. i used to go to a lot of gigs, but not so much in the last couple of years. Mostly because I have spent a lot of that time away, travelling around and working abroad. Although there is nothing like seeing gigs almost at random in crazy venues in Africa or Asia.

As of yesterday (21at August) I am a student teacher! I have just been accepted onto a PGCE, and start a refresher course on Monday :) I'm also thinking of all the fun things I can do with my baby nephew... When he can walk, and support his own neck, and that.

books.. Hunter S. Thompson, Steinbeck, Orwell, good autobiographies, philosophy books. pretty photography or art books, too. I read too many books at a time. At this moment I am part way through : Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway, Plato - The Last Days of Socrates (4 essays), Douglas Adams - Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and Steinbeck's The Pearl. Not really though, because I have left 2 of them books at friends houses, and Im reading Plato online.

I have also been listening to The New Yorker fiction podcasts. It's nice to be read a story before bed!

movies.. Lynch, Wes Anderson, P.T. Anderson, Lars von Trier. Funny stuff too, Dodgeball made me happy.

I like cooking new things. And adding lots of garlic and spice to them.

music! where to start. I usually prefer female vocalists, but just recently I have started listening to the male vocalists of my younger days.. Billy Bragg, Half Man Half Biscuit, Leonard Cohen, Belle & Sebastian. Wistful and clever stuff.

They change every time I think about it, but I would say (at 2.30 am on the morning of tuesday 13th august) that my 3 favorite albums are (in no particular order) : The Postal Service - Give Up, The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds and Pink Floyd - Dark side of the Moon. I've missed 8392 cracking albums there, and ask me in 15 minutes and I might say Cat Power - you are free, Television - Maquee Moon and Can - Tago Mago. Ask me tomorrow and it might be Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley, Zep's iv and The Who's Tommy.
