A friend of mine had a powerful argument in favor of actively searching and filtering the multitude of people in the hope of finding a partner. So in the spirit of being pro-active here I am... searching and filtering.

I should say very clearly upfront that I'm not a Christian and I have a significant history with religion having grown up as a Mormon. I'm willing to talk about all that, but I'm a much happier person having left organized religion. I say that to allow you to filter me. If you are looking for a partner in Jesus... I ain't your guy.

I'm a educated mid/late 30 something guy struggling with all the mid/late 30 something issues.

I like all the normal popular, contemporary stuff that a wide range of my peers like. I'm left of center, but more center than left politically, and a big fan of empowerment and equality and respect.

I like having serious discussions as well as more frivolous ones. I run for brunch, but haven't been brunching so much in an effort to stay frugal... still running though.

I drink, swear, dream, laugh, stress, get angsty, chill and et cetera ad nauseam just like you'd expect from guys like me.

I have specific, unique characteristics, but wouldn't you like to discover those in person?

I've recently become a fan of live music. I really like going to a small bar/tavern style venue and hearing a band, group, or artist I know nothing about.

I really like this trend of fine and artisanal dining that has blossomed in the US. I'm down for exploring Gastropubs and the like.

I'm not a big fan of super hoppy beer, which I've discovered is a regional taste... Much more of fan of Wheat beers, Belgian ales/ Abby Ales... and am determined to remain as ignorant as possible about wine so that I can enjoy it.

it has been a time of doing without so although there are many things I'd love to put on this list, the motorcycle is about it (although box wine from TJ's is making a strong case {see previous section about level of enjoyment})
