My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a mechanical engineer and a DIY-er. I have some personal projects in the works. I love designing and creating some of the interesting things that pop into my head.

My favorite quote is, "It may be the warriors who get the glory. But it's the engineers who build societies."

I own my own tuxedo and I want to go to black tie events to show off. James Bond ain't got nothin’ on me.

I can tango - poorly, but still... Would you like join me? I make a fool of myself dancing because it is fun. I enjoy singing karaoke, but I suck at singing the high notes.

I enjoy camping and I love movies. I'm a big fan of old kung fu movies. Subtitles are almost second nature to me.

A few random facts about me:

I'm a Bear’s fan for life.
I once slept through an earthquake and a sonic boom.
I once was described as, "Chocolate Daddy" by some random person.
I hate taking "selfies".
I'm starting to really dislike social media like twitter, instagram, scapchat, etc. Facebook is cool though.
Currently "Frozen" songs are struck in my head. I wish I could just let it go. OH NO!!!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a mechanical engineer. I work in product development. I volunteer with the youths of Lake County, where I mentor kids about their future.

What I want to do with my life
I'm rarely at complete peace with myself. There's always something else I could be doing to improve myself and the world around me. I'm planning on getting my PE license sometime next year. After that, I will get my Masters in Engineering, Education or Business. Then, I intend to get my PhD in physics.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Math has always been one of my greatest skills. I have been known to do random math problems when I have a few beers in me.

Movie trivia and six degrees of Kevin Bacon. If there was a job market for these skills, I would be swimming in money. I'm a walking, talking IMDB.

Cooking. Give me some ingredients and I can send your taste buds on a thrill ride. It is like an episode of “Chopped” in my kitchen. I have some recipes that I'm aching to try.

I’m more like a jacks-of-all-trades, master of none.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told I'm a big, intimidating man. Seriously, this is usually first thing out of nearly everyone's mouths. Then after two minutes of talking to me, I’m told they now realize that I'm a gentle, caring, and highly intuitive person with a big booming voice.

One other thing is that I can usually make people laugh within the first five minutes of meeting me.

Books: Harry Potter, Ready Player One, The Other Wes Moore, Ovid's Metamorphosis, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Gang Leader for a Day. I love reading different cultures' mythologies. I love Greek and Egyptian mythology. I read graphic novels and manga too.

Movies: Some of my favorites are Wristcutters: A Love Story, Spaceballs Metropolis (1927), Blazing Saddles, Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon, Django Unchained, Les Miserables (2013), Stranger than Fiction and Black Dynamite to name just a few. I have so many others that it could take me days to write all of them. I love movies. I even love bad ones because I can make fun of them. I have a Netflix account that I use constantly. I love martial arts movies, especially Thai movies. I’m also a sucker for animated movies, be it Disney or anime. It's that kid in me who still won't grow up.

TV Shows: Cops, Jail, Lockup, Castle, Archer, American Horror Story, Bob's Burgers, Once Upon A Time, Community, Doctor Who, The League, Top Gear, Mst3k, Firefly, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Sherlock, and Torchwood.

Music: I love music. Everything about music is so enjoyable. While I do have some favorite artists or songs, they are always changing. I really enjoy Skillet, Macklemore, Downtown Brown, DJ Earworm, Steven Sharp Nelson and Jon Schmidt. If you want a glimpse of what I listen to, listen to 93.9 Lite FM. (This is not a plug)

Food: I will eat almost anything and like my food spicy.
The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about what my next move is. I tend to daydream about my goals. The future is a mysterious place and I want to imagine all the possibilities.

I can over-think some of the more mundane things. I'm working on that.

What is my next project is going to be.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop. (Current hypothesis is three)

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood. (Current hypothesis is three)

How are they going to screw up star wars Episode VII.

I sometimes like to think America is as fat and lazy as the world thinks we are. Then I see a Carl's Jr. Commercial and I get very quiet.

How do I build the Quadracycle?

I've been thinking about how romance or friendship is born out of differences, as well as similarities; out of the unexpected, as well as the familiar.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going out to have some fun. I enjoy going out and finding new places. I really enjoy exploring Chicago and not just downtown, but the surrounding areas too. There are so many places that are not popular but are also very fun.

As long as people are having a good time around me, it doesn't matter what I'm doing on a Friday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think Ben Affleck will be an okay Batman. But I am worried about Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther.

I once was so obsessed with Kingdom Hearts during college that I almost missed my final exams playing the game.

I hate snakes.

I'm always surprised by the stupid things that kids these days do. This is what I want to say to the youth of today. "That is enough! I had it up to here with your hyper colors, meme's on shirts and dubsteppery! Your yolo swag hot topic tomfoolery ends here!"
