I am brainy, untamed, and lovely.

My Self-Summary

I am a native Coloradoan, currently working on my bachelor's in Virginia. I just left Cleveland, I was staying there over the summer researching in the pharmacology department at Case Western. Now I'm back in the grand state of CO, at least for a couple more weeks, until I head to VA to start my junior year.

I enjoy simplicity in all its forms, I am a proponent of living for today. I would like to find someone with whom I can share my love, my joy and my life. I am cautious, yet my trust is strong once gained.

I am an avid blogger/blog reader and I love watching vlogs. I could seriously entertain myself all day with my computer and the internet. I am particularly addicted to lesbian bloggers, and that realm of the blogosphere (for obvious reasons). I think that Grace the Spot is an amazing blog and Autostraddle and SheWired.com are some of my favorites. Of course I follow AfterEllen.com and I also occasionally love to read the Advocate. I must not forget to mention my absolute favorite set of vloggers in the world: the Beaver Bunch (you can find them on YouTube), I think that they are a wonderful asset to the community. I also happen to have a special place in my heart for Jess [cautiousplay].

My favorite quote is

"We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except the memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered."
- Guildenstern
"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead"

Yes, I am an existentialist.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm studying chemistry undergrad in the hopes of someday getting a PhD in pharmacology or something relating to drug design.

After I finish my undergrad, I plan to continue directly to grad school. I am constantly considering places where I would want to study. I have considered staying in Virginia and going to the University of Virginia, but I believe I would also like to explore other parts of the country. I'm looking at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, but I really think I would like to explore California. I've heard that the UC San Francisco has a good pharmacology program, and we all know the great thing about San Francisco. ;) You should let me know if you have other good schools to suggest.

At some point, I would love to live in either France or Canada (I'm leaning more towards Canada, maybe Montréal or somewhere else in Québec) and improve my French skills. I would just love to get a view of the world outside of our little American bubble.

I keep pulling for California to get it's act together and repeal Prop. 8 so that I might live there someday and be afforded all the rights of the average person. Yes, I am very political and politically active, I like to work for what I believe in.

I have always been somewhat of a country girl, I grew up in a small town in the foothills of the Rockies and have since moved to Lynchburg, VA for school, which could hardly be considered a city. I would like to live in a city for a while when I get out of undergrad, just to experience something different. I love to explore new places and environments. I also enjoy a fresh start, hence my moving to a new place or state for every additional schooling opportunity.

I’m really good at

chemistry and school in general.
I also happen to believe that I am a good dancer, and if you would be interested in testing out my skills, just message me!

The first things people usually notice about me

I would argue that the thing people notice about me is generally my eyes, which are hazel, and somewhere between green and brown. I've been told at times that they look yellow, almost golden in the sun and that they change color based on what I'm wearing.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I absolutely love dark fantasy! Give me Laurell K Hamilton or Kim Harrison any day (although I can't understand why Ivy and Rachel don't just get together, seriously...). I identify with existentialism and love Sartre and Camus, especially Camus. I'm also a sucker for anything French.

My favorite movies include, but are not limited to: Underworld, Imagine Me & You, I Heart Huckabees, V for Vendetta, Matrix, Atonement, Boys Don't Cry, Dangerous Beauty, Donnie Darko, Gattaca, Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned.

I really must include my favorite tv shows, even thought it's not a category, because I absolutely love my shows and they deserve mention here. They include, but are not limited to: True Blood, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The L Word, Lie to Me, Dollhouse, Hex, Wildfire, Robin Hood, 4400, The Black Donnellys, Psych, Law & Order SVU, and Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

I love most metal, especially European melodic death and northern European symphonic metal. I'm kind of addicted to pop. I can't get away from the classic NSYNC. Plus, I love Lady Gaga, and always have the desire to Just Dance!

I'm a veg, yes, I know it's cliché, but I do truly believe that it's better for myself and the world.

The six things I could never do without

Love, family, friends, pets, chemistry, books

I spend a lot of time thinking about

gender, orientation, sex and sexuality

On a typical Friday night I am

At Barnes and Noble, checking out the babes, lol, and car racing to the sex store... ;) You know what I'm talking about GreenEyedSwede1!

However, Saturday nights are my night, and if I'm not down at the Park (you know, the gay club in Roanoke), then I'm sure to be enjoying a night out with my friends.

Addendum: Now that I'm in Cleveland, I would like to edit my typical Friday and Saturday night activities. On Friday night, it seems that I am generally out clubbing or in drinking, or combining both. And Saturdays I also appear to be engaged at the club (Go Go Girls Show), gotta love Bounce. Regardless of where I am, you will probably find me with chendrix, and possibly some other cool REU people.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have a secret (although not incredibly difficult to find) blog that I try to write in frequently. If you find it, I will be quite impressed and just may have something special in mind for you. ;P

You should message me if

you think that we would get along.

P.S. I get along with just about everyone. ;)
