I work in travel writing, which sounds like fun, but the travelling
has made my social life a bit stop-and-start over the last 10
years. I've spent a lot of time wandering round foreign countries
on my own; and although I'm pretty happy amusing myself, I do think
that life is better when it's shared with an accomplice.
It sometimes takes me a while to get to know people, as I am quite
a private person (when not filled with Guinness); but the people I
love, I love for life. Of course I have my bad points; but on the
bright side, I am intelligent, loyal, trustworthy, empathetic,
non-judgemental, and have a dark and ridiculous sense of
My wishlist for you: I’d like to meet someone with a brain in their
head; who is kind, calm and collected; who has a positive outlook
and is interested in the world; who can communicate honestly and
openly; who has the ability to laugh when things don't go to plan;
and who can cope with the fact that I like to spend a lot of time
on my own!
Some stuff that makes me happy: scuba diving; skiing; reading; my
Open University course; the Forbidden Corner; the Yorkshire
Sculpture Park; walking in mountains or by the sea; Jack Handey;
guinea pigs; spending time with friends and with my niece and

realising that we will never leave our solar system.
