My self-summary
I was raised in So. Calif. near the beaches and was always a beach girl. After high school I moved around quite a bit and after a fabulous 8 years in So. Lake Tahoe I settled in the Portland area. That was around 1987. I own my own home on 1.25 acres and the river is is in my back yard. I've lived here in this house close to 11 years. I'm not saying I woud not be open to relocating. But, it would also be wonderful to share my beautiful place.

I'm good at finding the beauty and joy in the small things of every day life, counting my blessing and feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. I love hiking on the beautiful wooded trail right down the road from my house, or at the beach or at the falls. I especially love hiking in foreign countries. Think Mexico, Hawaii, St. John, and Bonaire. I love the feeling I get when I step out of an airport into new surroundings and for me, that usually means some where tropical. The warm air and relaxed atmosphere is infectious and I just want to drink it all in. This time of year on the river is gorgeous and in some ways winter is welcome, I'm looking forward to our first snow

I am looking for a man who will adore me for me...I want to feel that way about him too. Having great conversations about nothing but everything. To be excited to see each other. I am a giver and would love my partner to be a giver as well. Its really all so simple.....but sitting here on the internet makes it seem so hard. I love music and traveling, sitting in my back yard and enjoying the beauty in the small things in life. Listening to live bands and dancing at my favorite clubs or ball rooms on occasion. Concerts on the lawn at the Edgefield are really fun too. I like to read, listen to music... a lot, keep my flower beds looking nice all summer, lay in the sun down at the river with friends and family. My kids are very important to me as they should be. Zumba is my workout, if you have not heard of it you can Google that! ha ha. I love Mexican food, and make fantastic homemade chips, salsa, and tacos. Growing up in Gardena, Calif. gave me a real appreciation for Asian, Italian, and Mexican dishes. I am easy to please in most ways when it comes to most things.
What I’m doing with my life
Floating, dreaming, working hard, hardly working, keeping fit, watching movies, listening to music...alot, painting the inside of my house, making bracelets, nurturing friendships, feeling blessed I have great kids who actually love being around me, watching the river go by, planning my next vacation. Basically I'm feeling like a very blessed woman who has a lot to be thankful for.......
I’m really good at
Arranging my own CD mixes. Keeping my home inviting and clean. Teaching my students how to read. Gardening, listening, nurturing, cooking Mexican food, being a good friend, being dependable and trustworthy, dancing and Zumba.
The first things people usually notice about me
My open and friendly nature and my fit and youthful appearance.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Younger Next Year. I don't remember the names of past books I read. I read them and forget about them usually. I don't really have a favorite author. I like some of James Patterson's works, Dean Koontz, James Harriot, some Stephen King. I sometimes fall for the "popular" book and right now that happens to be 50 Shades of Gray..hmmm, not what I expected. I read the first Hunger Games, not to thrilled about the second book. Read all the Twilight books because my daughter was reading them, so we could talk about them. The list goes on.... Movies...so many, here are a few. Terminator 2, When Harry Met Sally, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Atonement, Knight & Day, Run Lola Run, Frieda, The Mist, Black Swan, Misery, Alien, Meet The Parents, Christmas Vacation, Liar Liar, Bridesmaids, Babel, anything with Dakota Fanning, etc etc. So many great movies. Music, that's a big one. I'm very eclectic when it comes to music. World, Alternative, Rock, some Jazz, some Blues, classical, and wee bit of country, and music is a huge part of my world. Food, the sky's the limit but eating fast food is very rare for me.....only in desperation! I eat in moderation and mostly healthy. There isn't much I don't like. I make great home made chips and salsa.
The six things I could never do without
Family
Friends
work of some type
music
being creative
love
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The Caribbean. Being more mindful. Who my life partner will be and when I might find them. What the world will be like when my adult children have kids. How will the school system be and how expensive will things be by the time their kids are teenagers. And what color will I paint my hall way... the hall way is finished!
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing and winding down from the week. Happy that it's the weekend and I can do what ever I want. I'm not typical. Things are always changing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm pretty sure I love the ocean/beach more than the woods.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 53–62
  • Located anywhere
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You sense a spark or connection with me. One thing I'm not willing to do is change who I am for someone and I wouldn't expect you to do that either. Sure, compromise on "things" but not on who we have become. Hopefully all of us who are on here have become better people because of our past experiences!!
