My self-summary
Hi! My name is Ashley and I've been staring at this blank self-summary box for about 20 mins now and I still have no idea what I want to say. Who knew setting up an online dating profile would be this difficult? I'm a list person, so I'm just going to list out random things about myself in the hope that some amazing guy will be intrigued enough to send me a message.

• I thought by 27 I'd have more of my life figured out than I do. This is a fact that bothers me some days more than others. For the most part, I'm learning to take things a day at a time and laugh at the absurdity of it all.
• I was born and raised in good ol' Snellville, GA - "Where Everybody's Somebody" (really, I couldn't make that up).
• I attended Florida State University for both undergrad and grad school. Go 'Noles!!!
• I joined Teach for America in a misguided yet genuinely heartfelt attempt to "make a difference" and "save the world."
• I'm currently working in sales operations for an industrial supply company in Atlanta. Despite the fact that I always swore I'd never work in an office, I find myself enjoying the business world so much that I'm considering pursuing a MBA.
• I can come across as a "dumb blonde" at times, but I'm really a nerd. I love learning and could spend all day in a bookstore or library.
• When I was a kid I wanted to be a juror when I grew up. Yeah, I used to think it was an actual job. And yes, I really am that weird.
• My favorite book is In Cold Blood by Truman Capote.
• I have a dog named Lily and a cat named Cali. They are my babies.
• I believe in God and I support gay marriage. I hate when people use religion to justify discrimination.
• The older I get, the more liberal I become (much to my uber-conservative grandfather's dismay). I realize this is backwards from most people and I'm okay with that.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm still trying to figure it out...
I’m really good at
My friends would say that I'm really good at making people laugh. I don't have much of a filter and my mouth gets me into trouble at times, but people seem to find me entertaining.
The first things people usually notice about me
I talk. A LOT. Kissing me is a great way to shut me up. ;-)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I love non-fiction (especially true crime), but I'll read just about anything. I just finished The Great Gatsby, and I'm currently reading How to Talk to Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere by Larry King (it's for a project at work - trust me, I don't need help in the communication department ;-) ).
Movies: I really enjoy going out to see the hottest new releases, and Redbox is awesome. I prefer dramas and romantic comedies over action films (hey, I'm a girl), but there aren't many movies I wouldn't see. Oh and I love scary movies!
TV: I watch a lot of truly embarrassing shows so I'll spare you the detailed list. Just know that I can, sadly, name every contestant on The Bachelor this season and I've done a pretty good job of Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Music: People are often surprised at the sheer randomness of my iPod. I can jump from country to pop to rock to gospel to punk to rap very easily.
Food: Guys tend to hate this, but I'm a picky eater. I order my steaks well-done and I can't stand seafood. (I know you're totally judging me right now). I love pizza and Mexican food, and I honestly cannot live without Coke (the drink, not the drug). ;-)
The six things I could never do without
1. My faith. (I believe that God has a plan for my life. I really do. I also firmly believe that a person's relationship with God should be just that...THEIR relationship with God.)
2. My family.
3. My friends
4. The Internet. (Seriously, how did we survive before Google?!)
5. Coca-Cola (My one true addiction.)
6. Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. I am a deep thinker and I tend to overanalyze everything.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'd rather buy new underwear than do laundry. Needless to say, I have a lot of underwear! Don't judge.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 27–36
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
“I'm looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love.”

I'm not looking to get married right away, but I'm tired of dating just to date. I want to find someone who truly gets me.

You should message me if:
• You're kind of a nerd (even if you're a secret nerd).
• Spelling/grammar mistakes drive you nuts. (Please don't message me if you do not use complete sentences with proper punctuation.)
• You're funny. (I love a man who can make me laugh).
• You're tall. (You don't have to be a giant, but I love tall guys!)
• You think sarcasm is fantastic.
• You read my profile and you want to get to know me better.
