Where is the future?

No flying cars, no jetpacks, hell, barely even electric cars.  Wireless charging has only been on the market for months.

No humanoid robots, and the closest thing we have to a chorebot is the roomba, the subject of a bizarre woot.com fetish.

Genetic manipulation to make us all supermen - nope.  Food in pill form - non.  Laser guns - nein.  We barely have a government so inundated with paperwork that it has become an Escher-esque nightmare (I kid, Barack, I kid - Wyoming's 93rd loves you).

So when we hit 2010 here in a fortnight and a half, ask yourself "does this really feel like the future?"

 

 

PS - I'm a hardcore lefty, but I think fake congressional districts are funny / a miscarriage of democracy / kleptocratic.

The trouble with actually moving forward in your career is that you might get stuck having to turn around a report on Thanksgiving weekend for a conference call on Sunday morning. Good thing I don't actually have to present it - I am so sleeping in.
