Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I recently graduated college with my B.S. in Computer Science, and
I'm currently working as a software engineer. Probably going to go
back to school for my Master's degree part-time starting next fall,
When I'm not busy being a code monkey, I'm usually playing some
games with friends (tabletop or video, I'm down with both), or
hunting for music. I'm an amateur DJ, so I'm always looking to find
more music to expand my library. I've started getting gigs as the
Saturday night rave DJ for anime conventions here and there, which
is my favorite type of crowd to spin for, hands-down. There's even
some footage of me spinnin' on YouTube, now.
On that note, I am definitely a nerd/geek/whatever term you want to
use. I'm into a lot of different things - cartoons, anime/manga,
video games, tabletop games, goofy Internet things, the list goes
on. I've been going to conventions for over four years now, and I
don't see that changing any time soon :P
All in all, I really just try to be myself. I don't see the point
in trying to be someone/something I'm not, or getting too stressed
out over whatever life decides to throw at me. It's my personal,
heartfelt belief that life is far too short to take seriously;
you've got to have fun with everything you do, enjoy life to the
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working during the week and chillin' pretty much the rest of the
time at the moment. Just kinda taking things as they come while I
get my life going. Playing some vidya gaems, practicing some guitar
and with my DJ gear, mostly just keeping myself busy when I'm not
I've also got a bunch of personal projects in the works, so I've
been trying to dedicate at least a little time to those every week.
Some are creative, others are just for personal improvement, but
they all mean something to me.
Other than that, I just try to live life to the fullest, enjoy
every moment of every day and make life as fun and full of laughter
as I can for myself and everyone around me. :3
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- Roller skating
- Creating random character voices
- Being a goof in general
- Making puns
- Making bulleted lists
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My fedora/the fact that I'm basically always wearing a hat, my
hawaiian shirt(s), and my trench coat if it's cold enough for
it...and I guess sometimes the length of my hair?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Wheel of Time series sits high on a pedestal, and is
probably only trumped by the absurd number of Discworld novels I've
been reading lately.
Music: I love music. Can't live without it at all. I grew up on
oldies, Tom Lehrer, Flanders & Swann (I hope I got their names
right), and other similar things; got into Weird Al in elementary
school and I've been happily memorizing his songs ever since;
started cranking out hard rock and metal through middle school;
embraced my geeky side in high school with anime music and similar
jams. Now I listen to just about everything under the sun, but ever
since I started working as a DJ I've been paying more and more
attention to the ever-growing world of EDM/electronica.
I'm still a sucker for a great guitar riff, though. Probably always
will be. :P
Food: Meat and potatoes. That's all there really is to it. I can
literally be bribed with good hamburgers.
Shows: Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Star vs. the Forces of Evil,
good anime whenever I find one that suits my fancy (and I actually
remember to sit down and watch it)
Other favorite things/things I just generally enjoy include:
cooking, creating fictional characters, practicing voice acting
skills in general, being active in fun ways (like DDR or roller
skating), collecting plushies at the various conventions I go to,
making puns that many would probably consider cringe-worthy, and
just generally being a goof at every moment I can get away with it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
1) Computers (yes, this includes the internet)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think about lots of things all the time. Usually side projects or
random ideas I get from time to time related to my major and
interests somehow. I also tend to get off on philosophical tangents
from time to time. But usually it's just whatever happens to float
through my head at any given moment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, having a good time and destressing from
the week's wear and tear. Generally being a goof, usually with my
friends who are also being goofs, and a good time is had by all. :P
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Three, things, actually:
1) I'm absolutely terrible at describing myself in profiles like
2) I'm an avid anime convention-goer, and I hope to be the DJ for
the Saturday night raves at such cons in the future. :3
3) I tend to overthink things way too much. It's something I've
been striving to improve, but I've still got a ways to go, I think.
