My self-summary
Self summary, hrm... How to fit the system which makes up a human mind - which is as complex as the universe itself - into a few meaningful words? How to even grasp all of what is 'I', all of what has become 'I' and what 'I' will be? Self-knowledge, or knowledge of ones soul, is only a glimpse through a keyhole into a room full of smoke and stars and mirrors. So I'll try, but don't think that what you read on here is everything I am, was or aspire to be.

I'm passionate about learning, nature, art, (some) sports, unity and community, politics, language, peace. I'm rather quiet most of the time and try to observe very carefully what's going on in the world and inside myself. I prefer to be on the move, always restless, never satisfied, home is where the heart is and I think my heart is everywhere, where I'm not. I don't consider myself part of any nation, religion, ethnicity or gender, solely part of a species calling itself homo sapiens. Everything else would be superficial and violent.
What I’m doing with my life
Hopeless optimist, trying to somehow make the world a better place.
Recently I've become somewhat of a health nut and am since devoted to proper nutrition and daily physical exercise.
Also trying really hard not to spend all of my life on the internet. ;)
I’m really good at
My personal strengths include driving vehicles of all sort (especially bikes) under rough circumstances like snow and rain, being able to think outside of the box, inter-disciplinary linking and organizing the fuck out of things. I have a hard time getting lost and almost always know the cardinal directions, which probably makes me a pathfinder of some sorts.

I'm really bad at
Smalltalk, never understood the concept of talking about things that don't really matter. So naturally I appear rather quiet or even arrogant to some, even though I'm actually not. (Or does that in fact make me arrogant? Please help, I'm confused!)
Understanding most 'signs' girls give me, you know, flirty signs. Yes I'm that oblivious.
Oh and I suck at dancing. That's another concept I'm not very familiar with.
The first things people usually notice about me
Nie mój cyrk, nie moje małpy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
Favorite works of non-fiction include:
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, UNSCEAR - 'Sources and effects of ionizing radiation', Adorno & Horkheimer - 'Dialektik der Aufklärung', Svetlana Alexievich - 'Voices from Chernobyl', Pierre Teilhard de Chardin - 'Le Phénomène Humain', Werner Hoeger - 'Lifetime Physical Fitness and Wellness'
Apart from all that, fiction is very welcome, too:
Cormac McCarthy - 'The Road', Stephen Fry - 'The Hippopotamus', Yevgeny Zamyatin - 'We', Steve Alten - 'Domain', David Foster Wallace - 'The Infinite Jest', J.R.R.Tolkein - 'The Lord of the Rings', Matthew Reilly - 'Ice Station', Iwan Gontscharow - 'Oblomow', Haruki Murakami - '1Q84', Don DeLillo - 'Point Omega', David Wong - 'John Dies at the End', Iain Banks - 'Matter'. Furthermore I really enjoy Schiller, Kafka, Benn, George, Kleist and their consortia.

Music:
My taste in music isn't narrowed to certain genres and ranges from classical music to modern electronic, from folk to hip hop, from ambient to black metal.
Currently I'm taken with Edward Griegs Op. 50 - Olav Trygvason and hooked on Pharoahe Monch's PTSD. Anyways I'm pretty open to new suggestions, so go ahead and share your favorites with me! :)

Shows:
Favorite shows are documentaries, TED Talks, Futurama, Game of Thrones, True Detective and Generation Kill. (All glory to HBO!)

Movies:
28 Days Later, Adam's Apples, Agnoli - Das Negative Potential, City of God, Cloud Atlas, District 9, Gran Torino, I.Q., Kate & Leopold, Koyaanisqatsi, Munich, Princess Mononoke, Shutter Island, Silent Hill, Spirited Away, Super Troopers, Stranger than Fiction, Thank You For Smoking, The Girl Who Lept Through Time, The Shawshank Redemption, and some more, though I generally have really high expectations of movies and series which regularly - with a few exceptions - can't be met.

Food:
I love the smell of Earl Grey in the morning. Smells like... victory! Or coffee. Food for the brain!
I prefer my solid foods with lots of phytonutrients. Fresh and plant based.
The six things I could never do without
Nature, freedom of travel, freedom of thought, love, peace & language.
Ohne seine Sprache wäre der Mensch nur ein Zwerg im Vorgarten der Evolution.

Also, the six things I could certainly do without:
Cars, television, unnecessary mail and other stuff that uses paper unjustifiably, advertisement, ticks and mosquitoes.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Especially why things/humans happen(ed), and why they are the way they are. The words evolution, universe and causality come up rather often, I assume. Other topics include rhetoric, etymology, sociology, politics, religion, history, future history, space and pretty much everything else, seen from a scientific point of view. Everything is interconnected.
On the other hand I'm sure if you'd pick any random moment, there's something about bikes and riding downhill going on in my head.
On a typical Friday night I am
If I'm alone, I spend the time reading, cruising on one of my bikes or writing. In company I like to discuss science and philosophy et cetera or go out for some delicious food.
I don't really like to go to noisy and overcrowded places like clubs, especially since I quit smoking and drinking.
Guess I'm more of the lounge type now. Or better yet: head out into nature and discover things!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Anything, if specifically asked for. :)
I’m looking for

You should message me if
you'd like to go cycling, running or mountaineering, have a chat or philosophize about the universe and our existence or simply share your favourite XKCD comic. :) Make it so!
