My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
After giving a toast at a wedding awhile back, a gentleman told me that I really reminded him of Amy Schumer. Thank you, sir, I'll take that as a compliment.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in local government. Sadly, I don't have any Ron Swanson-esque characters in my office to stave off the chill of daily bureaucracy. Kidding, kind of. I like what I do!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Sizing people up, making friends, and consuming large quantities of breakfast foods.
The first things people usually notice about me

Height, easily.

Books! Latest tomes on the nightstand include Lily King's Euphoria, a bunch of cookbooks, and DFW's Consider the Lobster. Updated to include Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood and the Prison of Belief, by Lawrence Wright. Did you read his 9/11 book, The Looming Tower? It was excellent. Also Ta-Nehisi Coates' autobiography and a reread of Marilynne Robinson's Lila.

Oh, I like all kinds of music, in that early 30-something urban professional kind of way; I listen to Radio K or NPR's First Listen during the workday and depend on cooler friends to turn me on to new artists. Lately, I've been enjoying some old Kate Bush and some new Chance the Rapper. Sometimes I play Basia Bulat's version of Bruce Springsteen's Glory Days on repeat.

High AND lowbrow is the way to go when it comes to television. RuPaul's Drag Race, Nova, Game of Thrones, and 60 Minutes/Golden Girls when I'm at my mom's place making her dinner.

I really love trying new places to eat, anything from the Bachelor Farmer to Taco Taxi. I also cook a mean curry. And a mean pot roast.

And, somewhat randomly, old buildings are my jam. Until very recently, I parked every day in the old armory downtown, and I loved the weird, derelict, echo-y nature of the place.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The coffee mug I've been using for over a decade
Wheels. Any set will do.
Magazine subscriptions
Kitchen gadgets
Hot yoga
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'm pretty clumsy; I'm left-handed, so that's probably why. Yeah, that's definitely why.

Above all, I'm drawn to people who have a decent sense of self without being arrogant or at all snobbish. Kindness matters to me a lot. I'm open-minded when it comes to occupation or school history, but I definitely prefer people who are curious about all the crazy shit in the world and accomplish their goals.

If you like heading north in the summer and watching some questionable television, then we're going to get along just fine.

A bawdy sense of humor runs strong in the women in my family and I'm not much of an exception. If that's not your cup of tea, that's totally legit, but we might not get along super well.

SUPER UBER DOUBLE MEGA POINTS for dudes that like to read. I mean, apart from witty banter and an appreciation for well-thrown dinner parties, I often have my nose in a book. Also if maybe one of your favorite books was written by a woman? That would be cool.
