My Notes edit

My self-summary

"I dwell in possibility"...which is a nice way of saying that I haven't done all that much with my life yet. I currently work and go to school full-time. I have been a Liberal Arts major with plans to teach, an English Literature major, a Creative Writing major, and now a Linguistics major. They actually are different degrees for different jobs, I swear!

I am looking for either friendship or a relationship, but I'm pretty shy and like to take time to get to know a person. If you're someone who's in a big hurry, I'm probably not the best date for you. I'm definitely not into one night stands/hook ups.

I'm really very new to all this, so I'll probably end up changing this profile several times while I get this all figured out.

What I'm doing with my life

It's beginning to feel like the degree that never ends around here...I've changed my major several times, and I'm still not exactly sure what I want to be doing, though I'm most likely going to end up doing something with language. I also have a job as a Starbucks barista so I am more than willing to bribe people with free coffee...j/k.

I'm currently attending Palomar Community College and looking to transfer next Fall, probably to Cal State San Marcos, though I am sending applications elsewhere.

I'm really good at

Lol, isn't this section hard to write without sounding egotistical? ~_^

Writing: I would love to do this for a living. Since only about .10% of published authors actually manage to support themselves on their royalties, however, I'm not counting on this option.

Analyzing/Debating/Discussing: This probably sounds like a bizarre thing to list here, but really my favorite part of reading a book, watching a movie, or even playing a video game is to get into the techniques the creators used, the various facets of the characters, or "what would happen if...?" games about the plot with other people who enjoyed the work (or didn't!). For me being able to discuss/debate various points without getting upset or angry is a must!

Trivia: Maybe I'm not the Queen of Utterly Useless (or at least Utterly Strange) information, but I've got to at least be a Duchess or something.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

- My sense of humor; I find that most things in life are hilarious when looked at from a certain angle.

- My brain. Not that I'm a card-carrying member of Mensa or anything, but if something's caught my interest, it generally means that I want to tear it apart and look at all it's various peices from a lot of different angles. Unless it's a puppy or something.

- My voice. I like to have lively conversations with people, and silence tends to bother me. If you're shy, I'll probably keep right on talking and hope that something I say reels you in, because the quiet will drive me crazy!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Okay, let's just say that there's a lot of really obvious ones I'm sure I'm forgetting, because these kinds of lists are always hard.

Books: Anything by Sandra Cisneros, Robin McKinley or Edgar Alan Poe. Yes, I know those three have nothing in common with each other. I also liked The Lord of the Rings triolgy, most things by Anne McCaffery, and most things by Diana Wynne Jones. I loved Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. I love more books than I know how to list.

Movies: I love Miyazaki films, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride, Star Wars: Episode V (That'd be the one with the actual "Luke, I am your father" speech in it), Pirates of the Carribean(the first one), Batman: The Dark Knight. Plenty of others I'm forgetting to mention, but I'm not nearly as much of a movie buff as I am a reader.

Music: Some of my favorite bands (not in any kind of order) are The Town Pants, The Dresden Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, The Sounds, Sugarcult, and Wicked Tinkers. I also love musicals, listen to some opera, celtic music, and rock from just about every era. I will generally try listening to anything once, though I know I have a real dislike for hip-hop, rap, and death metal.

Food: Omg, I can't believe I forgot this category! >.<; I love Japanese food, especially sushi, I'm a big fan of Italian and Chinese as well; as long as there's something non-spicy on the menu, though, I can eat there. I prefer to eat less meat, but I'm not a vegeatarian...more like a pescatarian-when-convenient. ~_^

The six things I could never do without

1. Books
2. My computer
3. My family
4. My friends
5. Sunshine! (I cannot stand the cold!)
6. Tiramisu (king of desserts!)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Erm...I'm kind of a "thinky" person. Not that my thinking is neccessarilly productive or anything, but...

- Books I've read. Why the author wrote them that way, what would happen if the characters had done this instead of that, if these characters were real people that I actually had to deal with on a day-to-day basis would I still like them/hate them, etc. I do the same thing with movies and video games.

- Things I'm writing. Coming up with and throwing out various story ideas, that kind of thing.

-Okay, not gonna lie. Usually that cute guy/girl that just walked by/just handed me my latte/just sat next to me in the library.

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with a friend or two, maybe grabbing a bite to eat or seeing a movie. Or maybe just reading/writing/playing video games/goofing off on-line. If I'm not at work, anyway. -_-;

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I put honey on my french fries. And that sounds like it's supposed to be a euphamism for something.

You should message me if

- If you answered that your quest is to find the Grail. We may just have to run away to Camelot and get married. On second thought, let's not go to Camelot; 'tis a silly place. ~_^

- No, in all seriousness? I'm here for friendships or possible relationships. Go ahead and message me--worse case scenario we at least get to know each other a bit, right?

- Note: Unfortunately, I do have very serious allergic reactions to tobacco, so I cannot hang out with smokers. So, I'm sorry, but smokers need not apply.
