I am volatile, intellectual, and passionate.

My Self-Summary

Let me save a few people some time right off the bat:
*The person, be it gentlemen or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid* ~Jane Austen
If this quote offends you, look elsewhere.
Please, for both our sakes.

Little Girl Blue is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Ever.

I am a total whore for NPR.

I have a penchant for Slam. I don't particularly find my own work very fascinating, but could listen to the work of fellow artists ad nauseum...particularly Andrea Gibson.

I'm a really genuine person-I say whatever is on my mind...unless it is extremely inappropriate or rude.

I'm from Chicago and plan on moving back after I'm done with school (in December-yay!), interning, and traveling.

I plan on seeing the world someday. Traveling and future trips occupy lots of my thoughts on a regular basis.

I will slaughter you in Diddy Kong Racing, Mario Bros, Duckhunt, 007, and Bubsy.
Oh, and I am amazing at Hand of Fate...an *old* school RPG from when I was a kid.

Brains I'd love to pick: Janis Joplin, Che Guevarra, HH the Dalai Llama, Thich Nhat Hanh, Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandella, Danny Elfman, Frank Beddor, Tim Burton, Neil Gaiman, Da Vinci, Mark Twain, Elizabeth Bathory, Dita Von Teese, Jack the Ripper

I am a vegetarian and have been my whole life, save a handful of hotdogs and some sushi over my childhood lifetime. No, I've never had a steak...or bacon. I am non-judgmental of people who do eat meat, just don't wave a bloody steak in my face.

I am ferociously independent and need my own space, but am not opposed to sticking with the right person...who would be looking for someone they like to be around, not someone to be their other half, because I am whole on my own and will not be anyone's completed half.

I know the history of my country and am aware that important events took place before my birth.

I am ambitious beyond all reason.

I plan on having a gigantic room just for my books when I can actually afford a house...because I have a LOT. No, really. Don't ever take me on a date to a bookstore hoping to actually get attention because you will lose my attention for hours.

Oh, and lastly, I believe the Electoral College is idiocy and desultory incarnate.

What I’m doing with my life

Finishing up at Eastern Kentucky University... I love to read, watch movies, play & watch sports, tinker with my truck, and listen to music. I've been a ballerina since I was 5...however, I don't have the time and money to do it half as much as I used to, which breaks my heart.
Trying to learn as many languages as possible. I'm fluent in English and American Sign Language; semi-fluent in Spanish, and I've got some Irish and Dutch down, tho I am constantly teaching myself and improving. I swear Irish spelling is the most complicated thing I have ever attempted :p If you have any pointers, please message me :)

I’m really good at

Learning. Cooking. Unintentionally presenting myself as an "old soul"...I've heard that since I was a really little kid.

The first things people usually notice about me

My hair, my smile, and my sense of humor.

*The most admirable quality I've seen in you is your comfort in your own skin. I seriously envy that and screw anyone who makes you question it* From my dear friend, Carli

Oh, and I guess this should be addressed at some point since this is the subject most of the emails I receive pertain to; I am not one for labels, however, I have a *strong* preference for women. I am attracted to both men and women, but am not keen on dating men (or sleeping with them) in general...tho it has been known to happen when brutal chemistry is present. I am open minded enough to acknowledge that I may feel really intensely for a man at some point in my life, and would consider the possibility.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

a. The Looking Glass Wars, Hatter M (graphic novels), Gingerbread, Harry Potter, Coraline, Stardust, Alice in Wonderland, Grendel is *infinitely* better and cooler than Beowulf (I'll root for the villain anyday), any Greek tragedy or Arthurian Legend, as well as anything by Ghandi, Thich Nhat Hanh, or HH the Dalai Llama...and I loves me some Anais Nin.

b.anything by Tim Burton, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Stardust, Greenstreet Hooligans, Mirrormask, Bottle Shock, 200 Cigarettes, Out Cold, The Crow, Bronx Tale.
Puccini For Beginners, Imagine Me & You, Fucking Åmål, But I'm a Cheerleader, Chasing Amy.

c. Janis Joplin, Zeppelin, Queen, Oingo Boingo, Atreyu, Imogen Heap, Ingrid Michaelson, Adele, Michael Buble, Nikka Costa, Tom Waits, Blind Willie Johnson, Girl Talk, Lucky Boys Confusion, 1997, Duke Ellington, Huey Lewis & The News, The Beatles, Black Crowes, Classic rock in general and LOTS of Irish music. I prefer listening to most of these via vinyl.
I am such a fan of soundtracks in general, I'm giving them their own section: Anything that Danny Elfman touches (Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Serenada Schizophrana, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Mars Attacks!, 9, Sleepy Hollow, Dick Tracy...and I could almost burst with infantile excitement over the announcement that he is composing Alice in Wonderland's soundtrack; I know, shocking) Mirrormask, The Time Machine, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Bottle Shock, Laberinto Del Fauno, Chocolat, Stardust, The Haunting....and tho they are not musical scores, The Wedding Singer, Freddy V Jason, Avenue Q, Detroit Rock City, and Juno all have great soundtracks as well. And of course, I have all of the Harry Potter soundtracks...tho (John Williams strike me dead) I think Goblet is my favorite.

d. I love any food of the non-American persuasion; Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Brazilian, Greek, Indian...come to think of it, I don't recall encountering any type of food I don't like.

Favorite shows: 70's Show, Robin Hood (via BBC), Weeds, Sanctuary, Mad Men, Primeval, Merlin, & Damages.

The six things I could never do without

Friends, Family & My dog, Dublin Sky
Music
Books
Dance and the creativity that goes along with that (I see dances in my head when I hear really groovy music and get inspired to write when the mood strikes).
Comfy Clothes
The hope of traveling the world someday.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Politics, religion, society in general.

On a typical Friday night I am

Define typical... I do like spending time (that I am not working) reading some new book I've been putting off or possibly a favorite I've read 18 times already, playing with my dog, watching some new movie, knitting, rockin out to some good music, drinking wine, at a bar having a few drinks, or catching up on some sleep.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Hm...I'm an open book. Ask away.

You should message me if

Any playmate (committed or not) has to spark my interest and challenge me, intellectually as well as physically.
If you're fun, can laugh at yourself, have a weakness for phenomenal books, a thirst for knowledge, love music and live performances, have a good sense of humor, you enjoy deep conversations and debates..
Oh just do it! You know you wanna. Promise I won't bite...unless you ask nicely :) If you have made it this far after actually reading all of the utterly useless info herein, please message me!

Please do *not* message me if:
You are not an animal person (includes hunters that own dogs...as eating animals that you kill does not make you an animal person).
OR
You are extremely jealous and possessive, as it is unacceptably immature. I *genuinely* do not mind someone I am seeing spending time with other people (I have been known to encourage such behavior), nor do I have any desire to see my date to pick a fight with anyone I decide to dance or flirt with...grow up.
