My self-summary
Self summary, huh... In the words of the great Samuel L. Jackson in the iconic film Jurassic Park, HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS.

I'm definitely more "one of the guys" than a girly girl, just in terms of interests. I love to dress up and look nice, but I mean like, Game of Thrones or BSG over Glee; Beer or whiskey over apple martini; Spending money on expensive ingredients for a fine dinner over designer clothes/shoes; dive bar over club.

Also, bacon. Bacon is definitely part of my self-summary.

I'm definitely not shy, love meeting new people, and feel comfortable in any social situation. And I like to dish it out, so I hope you can take it ;-) (And dish it right back at me!) In a playful way, of course. I treat everyone I meet with respect and go out of my way to help others, including strangers, often. Basically I abide by the Golden Rule in life. It's served me well so far.

I've been a dancer since I was seven and I continue to be pretty active and hit the gym or a dance class most days of the week and am very health conscious food-wise. Don't get me wrong I LOVE burgers, steaks, and beer, etc., but everything in moderation!! I play it extremely healthy, local, organic (Stuff White People Like #253) during the week so that I can live a little guilt-free on the weekends and would love to meet someone with the same mentality... that's not a dealbreaker, though! If you can be fit and eat whatever you want... well, good for you and I'm completely jealous and please stop eating Double Doubles in front of me 'cause this gluten-free bread that I'm eating tastes like pre-1978 asbestos-containing drywall. shit.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a court reporter. I'm sure you've stared at me or someone like me if you've ever been in a courtroom. I sit in the corner and move my hands in graceful fluid-like motions as if playing a delightful sonata of words to preserve an accurate verbatim record of the proceedings........actually, yeah, right. I probably look bored as shit up there and am thinking about happy hour. On a serious note, I love my career and I am extremely passionate about it. It was NOT easy to get certified in this field, which is why I bet you've never met another court reporter before! Unless you're an attorney. Then you cheated.

Before going to court reporting school, I got a BA in film with an emphasis in screenwriting. Totally random turn of events, I know... but that's where my love of tv/movies stems from.

Been dancing since I was 7 years old and was on a professional Hip Hop company called Culture Shock from 20-29. I grew up competing in the usual tap, jazz, and ballet. I still take tap regularly as it was my first love. I'm no longer on a company (at 30 years old I just wanted my weekends to myself after an entire lifetime of dancing all day every weekend) but I still take Hip Hop/tap classes regularly for exercise... and because it keeps me sane. Dance is definitely the biggest part of me as a person.

I also love to travel abroad once a year (Would like to make that two times a year) and spend a couple weeks in New York every year (the best city in the world). I would love to ideally meet someone with the same propensity (and ability) to travel wherever and whenever... This is why I love my career -- DOWHATIWANT. Just went to Spain, France, and Belgium in March 2013. I'm thinking Thailand next spring. Basically
I think Anthony Bourdain has the best life of anyone on the planet. If you too are the type of person who loves to travel, eat and drink ANYTHING even if it seems crazy, shoot the shiz with the locals, we'll get along great. I work to live -- not the other way around!
I’m really good at
tap dancing, expert sudoku puzzles (No, really, I'm the shiz at sudoku.. JEALOUS?!), watching an entire season of Arrested Development in one sitting, talking about beer and food with extreme fervor, making friends, my job, cooking, driving my manual car in LA traffic, making awkward situations not awkward with humor, making shy people feel at ease, grilling up a ribeye steak medium rare... and then eating the absolute shit out of it.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably smile and handshake... I have to ham it up a bit for new attorneys I meet. : ::epic eye roll:: : or wait. third arm. might be the third arm. jury's out. (GET IT? JURY??? 'CAUSE I WORK IN THE LEGAL FIELD? LOLOLLOLJSFJAEAHAHA..... im hilarious it's fine you can tell me)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: David Sedaris is my favorite, has been since high school.

Movies: Pulp Fiction; Kill Bill; Jurassic Park; Pee-Wee's Big Adventure; In Bruges; The Big Lebowski; Beetlejuice; Labyrinth; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (any Leone film, really, love spaghetti westerns); Superbad; Forgetting Sarah Marshall; Donnie Darko; Drive; American Beauty; Reservoir Dogs; Inglorious Basterds (Shameless Tarantino fan); The Evil Dead triology; Knocked Up; American Pie.... to name a few...

Shows: Arrested Development, Deadwood, LOST, Downton Abbey, Breaking Bad, Battlestar Gallactica, Mad Men, Rescue Me, True Blood, Party Down, Archer, Girls, Veep, Supernatural, The OC (don't h8 -- watch the first season and tell me it isn't legitimately good!) Jeopardy, and of course The Daily Show... love me some Jon Stewart.

Music: Duke Silver. j/k. (But props if you know who that is) Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, Chromeo, The Postal Service (THEY'RE BACK!!!!) 2 Door Cinema Club, Bassnectar, Wolfgang Gartner... I dunno, lotsa house/techno/disco/FUNK, and I could never clean my apartment without the 80's pandora station on... And I really, really love Beyonce. don't judge me bro. For real, though, I may ACTUALLY CRY when the new Daft Punk album comes out next month. Who's with me?!!

Food: Literally, fucking anything. I love food. Food-related pursuits (both cooking and dining out) are definitely high on my list of things I love! Though during the week I subscribe to a mostly Paleo diet.. aka I eat like a caveman.
The six things I could never do without
My custom-made professional Capezio K360s (tap shoes)
Bill Murray
Phlanges (Or "The Money Makers, as I like to refer to them)
the word "fuck"
Extremely fancy manicures (People stare at my hands allllll day, so I gotta keep 'em looking nice!)
a good IPA
medium-rare hawaiian ribeyes from Houston's
(oh, that was seven. guess I should add an eighth.)
BEING A TOTAL REBEL
(suck it OKC)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
why straight boys think they can rock a pair of Tom's.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home. I'm more of a go-out-during-the-week girl. From the traffic to the crowds to the drunk douchenozzles, LA on Friday night makes me homicidal, and ain't nobody got time fo' that. I prefer to spend my weekends NOT hungover (Things change when ya turn 30, huh?!) and instead get up and go on a hike with friends or to a dance class... usually a dance class or solo run, though, because hiking is only fun with friends, and my friends are fucking lazy. what dicks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I read 50 Shades of Grey. I am now dumber for having read it. I award myself no points, and may God have mercy on my soul.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 28–38
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
- If you're kind, ambitious, passionate, witty as hell, goofy, positive, have zero temper. It sounds so cliche to say I'm "laid back," but I really am so people that waste energy complaining about First World Problems and shit that really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things is an INSTANT turnoff for me.
- You're tall. I'm embarrassed to be putting something so shallow in this section, but I'm 5'6'' and all legs so I appear taller than I am, and live in heels. I am an amazon woman to anyone under 5'10''.
- If you want to go out and dance like Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega (minus the heroin overdose, plus the trophy)
- If you want to watch a season or two of Arrested Development in one sitting.
- If you want to go eat at Umami Burger, my treat. No, I'm fucking serious. I dream about that truffle burger nightly and want it in and around my mouth.
- If you can (and do) laugh at yourself.
- If you want to scour the county for rare beers. and then drink them.
- If you're a GREAT kisser.

Other than that, shoot me a line! (did I just say "shoot me a line"......WHAT am I doing with my life)
