My self-summary
I'm a happy and successful woman who finally has time to relax and enjoy life. I love my career and family, but now it's more about personal fullfillment, rediscovering the simple pleasures in life, and having fun!
What I’m doing with my life
I own and manage a company I started in 1998. I set a regular work week, but I have the flexibility to travel when I wish and take long weekends. This year I'm picking up some interests from the past and taking some things off my "list".
I’m really good at
Listening to others. I also actively listen to what you are NOT saying, a gift and a curse.
The first things people usually notice about me
I smile a lot and ask a lot of questions.
Oh, and my long hair always get a comment.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love to cook cajun and creole food, "Out of Africa" is an all time favorite movie (romantic drama, woman overcoming adversity, unconventional love affair), but I like many genres, and indie films especially. A favorite this year was "Moonrise Kingdom". As for music, I was born and raised in New Orleans, so blues, jazz, and soul are some favorites. I also like lots of current artists and prefer NOT to listen to "oldies" or beach music. I love biographies of all types, books on architecture, 18th century romance novels, and true crime novels (in moderation) because I can start feeling rather dark if I read too many of them.
The six things I could never do without
Happy and successful offspring 1
Happy and successful offspring 2

Friends with wine and chocolate
My pets & their house on the lake
Soft bed at the end of the day
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think a lot about the possibilities in the life I have been given, how to live my best life, how to give back, how to make a difference every day, how to honor those that have helped me, how to do the right thing for everyone involved.
On a typical Friday night I am
Having a drink and a great conversation with a friend, or cooking with a date which hopefully includes dancing in the kitchen, or watching a movie. Occasionally I want to read or be alone with my thoughts.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is I'm somewhat of an intuitive...and all that implies
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 50–65
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating
You should message me if
1. You are intelligent and educated, funny, honorable, creative, physically active, and can step up to a romantic moment gracefully.
2. Your photos contain things other than motocycles and fish, and they were not taken by you in the bathroom mirror. I'm not opposed to men having toys or hobbies, but it shouldn't define you, and you should have at least one photo worthy moment to post.
3. You like the combination of soft-feminine-independent-strong in a woman.
4. You can accept the fact that I look exactly like my photos, and my stated age is accurate, and you are willing to consider the possibility of being seen with someone near your age.
5. You love to hike and spend time outdoors or on the water, as in boating.

Don't message me if:
*You are paralyzed by adversity, fear, or have a moody temperament.
*You can't turn lemons into lemonade, make decisions, and embrace success.
*The term "napoleonic complex" angers you.
*You are significantly younger than me-not interested in financially supporting your dreams, being your mommy, or fulfilling your erotic fantasies.
*You are significantly older than me-I know you would say that you dance to the beat of a younger drummer, but I'm not retired, don't want to be retired, and it's a serious difference in lifestyle.

About us ...(Is this too much to imagine?)
Somehow, we're always laughing. Our friends love our parties because the food and music are great, but the conversations are even better. The spark and sizzle is always there between us, simmering just below the surface. We don't have much of a commute, and we can attend events or leave for a hike in the mountains on the spur of the moment.
Small things are magical to us, like waiting for a shooting star, gazing at the full moon, or anticipating the last green spark as the sun sets. We can talk about anything, or nothing at all. We support each other and we realize we are better together than apart. Our friends and families think we are a great fit. We appreciate our differences, and we might have an issue now and then, but our defenses are permanently down, so we can always work it out :).

So, if any of this sentimental idealism resonates with you, contact me.
