My Self-Summary
Though OKC limits me to "bisexual" I'm have a weakness for those who accept themselves as being between the strict "male" and "female." A perceptive person will recognize I don't fit into an expected presentation of gender either. An ideal partner will prefer this about me.
Polyamory has been my relationship structure of choice during the past 11 years of dating. I am uncertain about where things are going from here. While my heart has openness, it is hard to reconcile polyamory with the stability I seek in forming a future and life plans with another person or persons. I am open to finding out how this will play out.
Friends tell me I'm a clear communicator. I strive to be one and to have friends who can communicate directly with me as well. I also enjoy laughing, caring and being cared for, cooking and being cooked for, solving problems together, mutual inspiration affection.
My brain is reforming itself during school. I've become quite "woo-woo" as there is much development of magic in my studies. However, it is not at all incompatible with my basic life interest in knowing how things work in the world. On this quest I studied biochemistry as an undergrad, and several years later spent a year living abroad to get a feel for life outside these United States.
What I’m doing with my life
My profile probably makes my life sound serious (some friends say "intense") and when I read the profiles of others on OKC I see people who play games and hang out for the sake of it. If that's you, don't be discouraged since I strive for balance in my own way. I do tend to prefer activities with some utility, intellect, sexuality, emotional/communication skills thrown in the mix. I have been known to enjoy an evening of games, but left to my own devices I'd prefer anime or foreign films with a sci-fi theme so that I could run my brain on alternate futures and analyze the cultural aspects. I enjoy playful interpersonal interactions (someone spilled yogurt on me last week and I asked "what flavor" as I tasted it off my clothing, much to her surprise) and at times I attend Nia dance class for the creative free physical movement.
Consequently when I'm not studying or shopping at the farmer's market, my free time consists of watching anime with friends from school, hikes within Portland, sewing my own clothing, going to the movies, messing around on the computer, meditation.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Music: Some favorite bands are La Oreja de Van Gogh (Spain), Lori McKenna (Massachusetts), Niyaz (L.A.). For studying, I'm a fan of internet radio stations like SOMA FM and "Mountain Chill."
Food: Having lived in New York City and San Francisco, my palate is varied among ethnic foods, fresh organic produce and a variety of grains. After a while of cooking on an electric range I just bought a portable gas burner and am enjoying anything cooked with it!
The six things I could never do without
sorry that's only five for now.
