My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My previous summary was a little lackluster, so I figured I owed it to you, dear reader, to elaborate a little more and perhaps entice you to converse. Or maybe I just wanted to talk about myself and be self absorbed for a little bit. Either way, you're reading it. Otherwise you wouldn't even know I wrote that you're reading it.

I'm from Maryland, born and raised on the Chesapeake Bay, transplanted to York since 2004. It's been a while, but I'll always feel most at home on the water. I'm an artist, specifically an animator, trying to make a mark on the world. Life likes to throw wrenches in my plans but it's not going to stop me.

I'm a bit awkward with people until I get to know them. After that awkward phase I'm sarcastic and a smart ass but I'm also pretty empathetic. I like to crack stupid jokes that nobody gets, laugh at things most people won't notice, and generally be goofy with my friends.

I'm a gamer, though not as much as I used to be. I have pretty much every current console save the Xbox One. I miss the days when Rock Band was the go-to social game. Cards Against Humanity makes for a suitable alternative though.

I'd just as soon go out exploring a new place as I would chill inside and watch movies. I love being in cities with so many people buzzing around, but I also love being far out in nature far from civilization.

So what am I doing on here?

I'm trying to find some new people that I really connect with. I'm a good few years out of college now and it's just harder to meet like minded people. I don't know if I'd say I'm actively seeking a relationship, but I'd certainly like to go on some dates and see what comes of it.

As far as relationships go, while we're on the subject, I like women who are independent, have their own goals, but still enjoy spending time with their significant other. Someone who enjoys art, games, movies, and the outdoors. Someone who will challenge me intellectually and broaden my horizons. I want a partner in life, more or less. I don't want to be the one to make all the decisions alone.

Bonus points for big green eyes and long red hair.

I'm starting to believe such a creature is akin to a unicorn, only spoken of in legend and fairy tales. Yet I search.

But hey, I'll chat with anyone so long as you have more to say than "Hi" before you delete your account.

Congratulations! You made it through the summary! Go you!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just turning the page and on to the next chapter of this book called life.

Serving up coffee and doing freelance to make it by.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being a good friend, talking, art, sleeping. Human things.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
"How's the weather up there?"

I've been complimented a lot on my hair?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I'm not illiterate, I just haven't really gotten into any books for a long time. .

Some of my favorite movies include:
-Scott Pilgrim
-Children of Men
-The LEGO Movie
-Fifth Element
-The Shawshank Redemption

And plenty of others. I have a very broad range of tastes when it comes to movies. Awful horror movies are the best, too, just for the sheer laugh-factor.

I have kind of an obsession with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If I can't geek out over it with you, you might get the shits of me pretty quick.

As far as shows go, I don't actively watch much anymore. Most of what I do watch is on Syfy for background noise. A few of the shows I do keep up with though:
-Agents of SHIELD
-Daredevil
-Sherlock
-Face Off
-12 Monkeys

I will talk your ear off about movies or shows that I like.

I have a broad range of tastes in music but most of my library is rock centric. If I had to pick some bands out of a hat, they'd probably include:
-Darling Thieves
-Barenaked Ladies
-Foo Fighters
-The Classic Crime
-Poets of the Fall

And food? I love food.

I really enjoy trying new things, especially when it comes to different cultural dishes that stand apart from your typical American cuisine. Sushi is always great. Mexican is among my favorites. Burritos and tacos are a comfort food.

I grew up on the Chesapeake close to Baltimore, so it goes without saying that crabs are another favorite. Summer isn't summer without a bushel of crabs.

It should be worth noting that I'm also a gamer. About the only console I don't own is an Xbox One. Some of my recent favorites include The Last of Us, Mario Kart 8, and Destiny. The Mass Effect trilogy holds a special place in my heart, but Chrono Trigger will probably always top my list.

If you love games, we'll get along great.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Pretty sure my blood to coffee ratio is pretty skewed in favor of the latter. So... Coffee.

Being a smart-ass is pretty essential to my existence. So that too.

People. I'm an extrovert by nature.

Art.

Days that are warm enough to wear shorts and t-shirts but not so hot that you're sweating from stepping out the door.

Probably the internet. How would you read this otherwise?

And burritos. Which is a 7th thing, but I don't think it counts since burritos are basically a requirement for life along with air and water, right?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whatever other people think about, I'm sure. Life, where things are going, if they're going the way I want them, if I can change it if they aren't. Friends, family, maybe you? Animation ideas, things I'd like to sketch, skills I'd like to improve. Food.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Friday is just another day of the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I wouldn't say it's entirely private, but life threw me some curveballs in the past 12 months or so and forced me to rent out a room at my Mom's. That coupled with having just gotten laid off towards the end of May puts me in a rather frustrating situation for someone years out of college who had been establishing his independence.

It's a temporary inconvenience, but some people can't seem to look past it. So here it is out in the open in case you're one of those people, that way we're not wasting each other's time.

I used to have some really engaging conversations on this site but hardly anyone talks these days. Maybe I'm just getting old? Tinder syndrome?
