I like to think that I am a generally fun guy to be around. I will at least try to make the best of every situation rather than freak out or throw a fit. I play drums, games (board and video), saxophone, most sports (casually), guitar (learning), and more games. Just bought another motorcycle! I'm a transplant from Los Angeles by way of Boston. I have a PhD in plasma physics and study the upper atmosphere. I explain things with odd but helpful noises. I eventually will end up teaching or making robots or somesuch. I watch Netflix, read fantasy books when I have the time, play in a concert band, and listen to most mainstream or classic rock music. I don't drink, don't smoke (What do ya do?). I rarely get upset, but can get moody when hungry or deprived of social activity. I'll sing to myself (and nearby cars) while I ride the motorcycle. I'll bark at people occasionally. I wear Hawaiian shirts in the winter and play Christmas music in July. I'm a bit cluttered, a little messy, and often a night owl.
I am Charismatic, Educated, and Easy-going
What I’m doing with my life
Got my Ph.D. in plasma physics and a job! For now. Now I'm just
enjoying life. Music, games, and general mayhem.
I’m really good at
Meeting people, which I love. Puzzles. Doing a little bit of
everything. Nerdy stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm usually smiling or laughing. Blue eyes twinkling and all that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Fantasy type books. Pat the Bunny. Goodnight Moon.
Action flicks though I'm a sucker for romantic comedies. Gladiator, Romeo & Juliet '99, Shakespeare in Love, Wallace and Grommet. Dr Horrible. Serenity.
I used to watch a fair amount of TV but when I moved to DC I decided just to go with Netflix. And the one channel that is unscrambled on my TV. Right now I'm binging on SeaQuest DSV, from the late 90s. I miss Eureka, Community, the Daily Show, and Firefly. The rest I feel okay without.
Top 40. Classic Rock. Normal Rock. Bluegrass. Country. Whatever I hear on the radio. Getting into some dubstep. 80s and 90s for dancing!
Sensitive palate and I used to be shy about new foods. McD's and Subway has got me this far in life. However I did put on my big boy pants a few years ago and will now try non-spicy things like sushi. I loooove sushi. But not wasabi. Pizza is my friend. Most anything with cheese really. Or just cheese by itself.
The six things I could never do without
Furry things like my cats.
People to talk to.
I'd rather not lose my video games but I suppose I could live without them.
A concert band or orchestra in which to play.
Puzzles or problems to stimulate me.
Music for groovin'.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Things more or less unrelated to reality. My mind travels far and
wide down random paths. What needs fixing around the house.
On a typical Friday night I am
I have no typical Friday night. Some nights I'm playing tympani
(update: not anymore sadly). Others, I'm at a friend's party. I
could be going out line dancing (contra, line, swing) or karaoke.
Perhaps I'm playing board games with friends or a video game with
my brother. Lots of options. Love meetups.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Hah! I cried at the end of Gladiator. Also, grapes and Ranch Wheat
thins don't last long in the house.
You should message me if
you have been described as sassy or sarcastic and can hold your own in a witty email exchange. If you play board games or video games or can tolerate whole afternoons being devoted to such activities. If you're a night owl or don't mind going to bed before I do sometimes. If you love to laugh and are okay with hanging out with a social butterfly (read: major flirt).
