I am quirky, crafty, and observant.

My Self-Summary

I have a great time meeting people, reading, and I deeply love indie radio. Am a vegan, but don't worry - I cook steak for my friends! I want to talk books, your latest DIY project, that song you can't believe anyone likes, and how out-of control your coffee habit is.

I'm starting to get back into running, so if you're up for a partner (that probably can't keep up with you), let me know.

Passionate for: the works of Joan Didion, movies by Charlie Kaufmann and Beck, even if the last album was really a Dangermouse album. Can't help it.

What I’m doing with my life

I do data analysis, and keep working for the day I can work in a science library setting and do tech outreach. I am committed to being green, collecting those works of art that resonate, and gaining a better understanding of the mathematics and programs that run our lives.

I’m really good at

I'm that person you can tell anything. My friends find me to be a great mirror. I care about current affairs, literature, art, science, and pop culture and can talk to you about anything. Most of my jokes aren't office-safe. When something goes wrong, the first thing I ask is "What did I contribute to make things this way?"

The first things people usually notice about me

Although they don't photograph well, most people notice my eyes. More gray than blue. Next is probably something I said, but that part will depend on you.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Middlesex, Fun Home, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, The World Without Us, War is the Force that Gives Us Meaning, First Man of Rome series, anything by Joan Didion, anything my Margaret Atwoot, Alice Through the Looking-glass, Catch-22, anything by Orwell

Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovitch, Fight Club, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Raising Arizona, The Royal Tenenbaums, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Magnolia, Young Poisoner's Handbook, anything Charlie Chaplin

Music: Beck, Peaches, Radiohead, Devo, Violent Femmes, Dead Milkmen, Bjork, Victor Wooten, Duke Ellington, Aimee Mann, They Might Be Giants, Pink Floyd, The Who, Ben Folds, King Missile, One Ring Zero, Queen, Shirley Basey.

Food: Most anything spicy, fresh bread

The six things I could never do without

Books, cats, music, coffee, laughter, friends

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Saving the world, learning something new, why liberal guilt makes grocery shopping a chore, why I haven't written that book yet.

On a typical Friday night I am

Watching movies, going out with friends, finishing a craft project, starting that bread dough for the weekend.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have never wrestled a bear.

You should message me if

You want a real conversation, you wish there were more genuine people in the world, you know any good local plays or shows, if you've figured out where all the people in their early thirties are hiding.
