Ok, so here goes...A little about me: I am a fun loving and adventurous person. I enjoy laughing and playing but can be serious too, if necessary. I am politically liberal and religiously agnostic with pagan tendencies (might as well get that out of the way at the beginning). I am looking for a companion who shares my interests.

What I like: I love the outdoors, hiking, camping, river rafting, fishing, just being in nature. I like going to places I've never been and believe that the journey should be as fun as the destination. I love travel when the opportunity presents itself. I enjoy a good wine and fine food and joining my friends for Happy Hour and a game of darts or pool. I am interested in Science and learning and would like to meet someone who feels the same and wants to learn things together. Dancing is great but it seems that nowadays, by the time the bands start I gotta' go home. (I'd love to stay up later but work starts so early). I have been into the SCA, which is a Medieval and Renaissance recreation group, but I am not so active anymore; real life has more appeal currently. For relaxing I enjoy reading or watching movies at home. I watch a bit of TV when there’s nothing better to do, mostly Nat Geo, Sci-Fi and Comedy. I listen to NPR on a regular basis and would like to meet someone else who does; that way we can compare notes at the end of the day and talk about all of the interesting things we learned. I am also quite affectionate; I enjoy kissing and cuddling and caressing, holding hands and touching...

My situation: I am employed, thankfully and I currently live alone with my sweet and funny feline companion, Turtle (yes, that’s her name).

I smoke again...*sigh* It's so hard to quit and stay quit. I will probably try again this winter after I am finished with my weight loss...15 lbs and counting!

I am Adverturous, Spontaneous, and Open Minded

I just got a great job working for an organization I love! It is part of the university so I will be able to go back to school again. Now I just need to figure out what I want to study...Do I want another bachelors or do I go for a masters? What subject(s)? What do I want to do when I grow up?

Procrastinating, apparently...if you read my last answer. Actually, I'm pretty good at a lot of different things...That's part of the problem...I have very broad interests...I can sew and sing, and cook. I am very analytical and like to look at the "big picture". I am good at thinking "outside the box" to come up with solutions to problems. I am good at archaeology, I can almost always find some kind of artifact when I'm out hiking. I am great with animals...I love them all (except spiders...for some reason I can't stand them, they give me the heebie-Jeebies). I am good at learning...and then forgetting again if I don't get the opportunity to use my knowledge.

I think it depends on who they are, and what kind of mood I'm in...I honesty don't know, but for most guys, if they were to be truly honest, it's probably my chest.

I recently asked a few people: One guy, who I met here, said that he noticed my ability to write intelligently. A girlfriend said she noticed my hair, another, my outgoing personality.

Anything of the fantasy bent...Eddings, Rawn, Feist, McCaffery; the usual suspects. I also like Anne Rice, Stephen King, and Octavia E Butler. I read a lot and some day I hope to have a library room in my home...with the walls lined with bookshelves, with all kinds of books. I should probably read more non-fiction, and I keep planning on it...there are so many books I hear about and want to read.

Movies...I like most movies, I don't like movie theaters, however, as I like to pause and rewind if I miss something so I am happier watching a DVD at home. Specific favorites include "The 5th Element" "The Game" "The Boondock Saints" (the first one) "Serenity" (I am still angry at Fox...and not just for cancelling Firefly) and most Pixar films. And I would be remiss if I din't give "The Princess Bride" a special place in this list.

I like music as well, most anything but country and gangster rap. I love jazz, and classical, and rock, alternative, New Wave (remember that?). I love the Barenaked Ladies and Pink Floyd and Prince. Also Metalica, Nine Inch Nails, Primus and Enigma.

Ah food, I love food...Especially continental cuisine...lots of sauces and bread...sigh... I recently cut out most carbs - bread, potatoes, sugar...it is working for me for now and with walking and paddling I'm starting to get back into shape...again.

Hmmm, "never do without"...wow...Well, Oxygen, that's one...and I really need my blood, my bones, my muscles...and my skin to protect all that...Lets see, that's 5...um, wine? Yah, wine, I really do like wine, and food, wait...that's 7...Maybe I can do without wine, but then there's water....We all need water...don't we? Oh wow...now I'm really in trouble...

A lot of crap. I think I'd be much happier if I could turn it off. Actually, I think about politics, and the environment, and what I can do to help. I try really hard to come up with solutions to the problems we face as a country and as a species. Sometimes I think I have a solution or two, but the problem becomes that my ideal solution might be completely abhorrent to someone else...So I think about their arguments against my solution, and try to come up with counter arguments...sigh...this happens a lot in the shower, and it's hard to write things down in there so mostly I forget it all.

Playing darts with my friends, drinking some beers, maybe going out for dinner. Looking forward to the weekend...too short...so sad.

Deep down inside I'm a bit of a geek...but if you haven't figured that out by now you haven't been paying attention.

You want to chat some evening when neither of us have anything better to do. Or if you like to hike and have adventures...or if you are a little bored...I make no guarantees but if we get along maybe we can go hiking, or out for a drink or something...you know, see where things go from there.
