My self-summary
I am moving back to Rochester after being away for a couple years. CurrentlymI am trying to get into the Brockport BSN program- in the meantime, just hanging around. :)

I tend to live my life on a whim, going in the direction that the world seems to point me, exploring new places just for the sake of adventure

I am a practicing pagan, I just want to be up front with it. I believe that all paths lead to the same place, and that it doesn’t matter where you end up, it is how you get there. It doesn’t matter to me if you are spiritual, but I have a hard time believing that there isn’t something greater than ourselves out there in the universe.

Yet there is always the chance that we ourselves are what make the Gods alive. Hint, read Neil Gaimon’s American Gods for better insight on that topic.

I probably read a book a day. In fact, the last time I moved I had more books than all of my other possessions combined, I guess I am sort of a bibliophile. :D I am always looking for new things to learn, read, and live out- so suggestions are always welcome.

I think that one of the most important things that our generation has fallen away from is being kind to complete strangers. I think that we, the youth in the USA have lost our way a little bit. What happened to community? To meeting people outside of the internet? To being charitable just for the sake of being charitable. I hope that we get back to the roots of community again someday, I don't want to grow old feeling completely alone in a crowded room of people.

I don’t necessarily believe that life is all about continuing the human race, I think that life is about self discovery, spending time with other people, and adventuring into the great messy heart of the earth. There is too much I want to explore and know before I settle down to live the white picket fence with a dog lifestyle. I’m too much of a bird to be caged I guess.

I’m sarcastic, I love too easily, I believe in charity, and have a hard time with patience. I hate red tape, but understand why certain precautions are in place. I believe that all people are generally good, and that everyone deserves a second chance. I also know that nothing in life is guaranteed except death and the human ability to adapt and change, so keeping that in mind, I intend to live my life never counting on the word tomorrow.

I have a hodgepodge of interests, and a hodgepodge of beliefs. I love music, and can make a noise on most brass instruments. I enjoy making things, and am slowly learning how to to sew.

I’ve worked as a baker and as a grass roots campaigner. I’ve taken care of the elderly, the not so elderly, the developmentally disabled, and the next generation. I've loved every minute of it too!

I try to live sustainably, and I love getting dirty in a garden. I am always up for exploring the outdoors, but never have the right footwear. I am not very good with computers, and am OK with that, I think that electronics may slowly be ruining the human race anyway. :P

I love sharks, words, and the color green.

I dream in color.

What I’m doing with my life
I am currently working as a nurse and loving every minute of it. :D

Trying to learn the guitar.

Hoping to go back to school relatively soon, I really need to finish out my degree.

I would like to, at some point, have an entire wardrobe of clothes I made myself, at the moment it is unrealistic since I have about as much skills in sewing as I do in nuclear physics.

At some point in the near future I would also like to live in a housing cooperative.

(I love sustainability.)
I’m really good at
Typing, recycling, singing in my car, and taking random and unplanned road trips/city excursions.

Finding good prices on flights, oddly enough.
The first things people usually notice about me
The sarcasm, my need to give away my possessions (since you can always acquire more), and my list of ten places they could work. :)

I also apparently have nice lips.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Isaac Asimov, Jack Kerouac, Marge Piercy, Alice Hoffman, James Clemens, Laurell K. Hamilton, and Robert Asprin, Ann Bishop, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Carl Sagan,
also: The Hero and the Crown, A Thousand Splended Suns, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime, A Million Little Pieces, Stones from the River, The Dragonriders of Pern, Go Ask Alice, e.e Cummings Poetry, The Green Mile, Hearts in Atlantis, Witchlight

Movies: Fight Club, Meet Joe Black, Stranger than Fiction, Deep Blue Sea, Firefly, Dead Like Me, Practical Magic, Star Trek, Star Wars, The Secretary, Up, Juno, Serenity, The Big Bang Theory, Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, Jaws, Starship Troopers, Iron Jawed Angels, Beauty and the Beast, (Most horror movies- the campier the better.)

Music: Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor, My Chemical Romance, The Decemberists, Mumford and Sons, My Chemical Romance, The Beatles, 2Cellos, First Aid Kit, Brandy Carlisle, Missy Higgins, Breaking Benjamin, John Williams, Bach, P!nk, Billie Holiday - and the ever growing eclectic list goes on..

Food: Fresh fruits and veggies out the garden, especially tomatoes. Sushi, pineapple, salsa and tortilla chips. I will try anything once, but things I really don't like are Boxed Macaroni and Cheese, Corned Beef Hash, and liverwurst.
The six things I could never do without
Sunlight, books, coffee (I am not the nicest person when there is too much blood in my caffeine system), the stars, music, and a toothbrush.

(And Rebecca, and Momo, and Elphaba, and Cleo)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What our place in the world is, how to improve our lives and the lives of others, and how to live a minimalistic lifestyle.

Anarchy and social change.
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't really have typical Friday nights, if I am hanging out with someone, I could be up to absolutely no good. :D

I like to spend my free time out discovering new territory, but sometimes you can catch me at home reading. It all depends I guess.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If I admitted it, it would no longer be private.

(I will admit that I am not a very good always there friend, I tend to do my own thing the majority of the time, so while in my head I think that I am always there for people, really usually I am not. I try to be though.)

((I also love sleeping next to people. There is something comforting knowing someone else is there.))
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 20–35
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends
You should message me if
You have an open mind, you like to read, you believe that there is life besides video games and television.

You want to change the world.

Although, in general, I am up for any kind of conversation.

(Also, if you have a zombie apocalypse plan, or have ever considered taking over the world, I would love to hear your thoughts.)

You should NOT message me if:
-Your beliefs make you think that I am a bad person.
-You just want to get laid.
-You do not have time to actually get together.
-You hate cats.
-You aren't doing anything with your life, it is okay to be in limbo sometimes, but I work hard and I am sort of done with dating people who don't do anything with themselves.
-We have absolutely nothing in common, having things in common is a good thing, it may give us something to talk about. Honest.
