My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am looking for a 'Michelangelo relationship' ... being with someone who can 'fill your gaps' (as Rocky said) and help make you the better person you want to be.

I think I share a very nice trait with women ... I grow more attracted to them the more time I spend with them ... in the end the wit, intelligence, support, etc. is going to win not just the day, but the years.

• Losing Weight - but have a great energy level for a 51 yo. (To help lose weight I walk between 3 1/2 and 7 miles a day. (Update: I am down to a 75 pound weight loss and tonight I actually started running instead of walking. It's a block at a time but it's real running. I've also started counseling a few friends with their weight-loss and food management.)

Sometimes (it's got to be cool and breezy!!) I'll supplement that with some tennis. It is absolutely remarkable, even surreal, how the food cravings disappear when you severely reduce the addictive foods from your diet. For the first time in my life I have no problem not eating at night. That's a big deal.)

• Gaining Wit
(True story #1) At the market the cashier asked if I wanted a fork for my take-out. I said only if you buy me flowers and chocolate first.

(True story #2) I wanted to startup a senior citizen dating website in the 90's... Carbon-Dating.com.

• 100% Satisfaction Guarantee
I am not, nor have ever been, nor will ever be... a scammer, a cheater, am nuts, or request financial support. I drive... a nice, newer model car. My height is honest (5-8) and though two years old my photo is accurate (though I'm thinner now ... but thank goodness my teeth haven't lost any weight)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
What I'm doing, now better than ever, is changing...better tools and actions to match my vision and reality - having it all, health, money, family (feeling wanted and making someone feel wanted).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Creativity
Kindness
Doing the right thing
Being willing to change / Taking Coaching / Learning
Loving cats - I had three cats but only my darling big boy Hammerhead remains. He proves to me my capacity for love.
Sharing wonderful links... here's one... http://www.nytimes.com/video/modern-love/

Websites:
Baggage Reclaim (relationship site)
PlentyofFish - the discussion forums are excellent... 17 pages of people discussing if friends first every really works. I think it's about 60/40 No/Yes ... I think it's the best way to go. What do you think?
TED (talks...about behavior change)

Movies:
Shawshank, Cabaret, Cinema Paradiso, Amelie.

TV:
West Wing, DeadWood, (first three seasons of) MadMen, BreakingBad, old Hollywood Squares (Paul Lynde, genius), Barney Miller, Alfred Hitchcock Presents (c. 1955) (Alfred being what's worth watching at the beginning and ending)

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Human touch, cats, 8 hrs. sleep, Fall, bacon, garlic, the feeling of belonging, al dente kissing, hot showers on cold and dark days (and candles if we match), naps, work, running… And dare say it, broccoli. My least favorite vegetable has now finally become my favorite. That's some effective behavioral change right there.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Staying focused on my weight loss goal - down 50 lbs. (doing about 1200 cal a day and walking 5, 6 or 7 miles a day). fantastic!
... finding better, more satisfying ways, to reach goals, helping care for my mother. Building the skills of meaningful relationships.
The psychology of skill building. Don't get me started on feedback loops, cognitive dissonance, and everything else involved with demystifying what really it is to be.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working or working out...I don't have a set day off... this week it was Wednesday (cause it was 80 with low humidity).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I often feel entitled and I feel liberated knowing it because I can turn it off when I see it. Men aren't entitled to sex (for example).

I'm also not a tattoo fan. Nor fan of the law of attraction or any other fantasy philosophy that's not grounded in reality. I am severely for personal improvement but if it doesn't have a great track record you shouldn't invest your time, effort, and money in it.
