I am awkward, nerdy, and playful.

My Self-Summary

Hey, I'm Jason. I'm looking for friends. I like to get to know someone before I... well, I like to get to know a guy.

I feel like the rest of the profile does a pretty good job of describing me, in a cursory sort of way.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently working at a law firm in downtown SF. This is, thankfully, temporary (another 6 months or so). My actual plan is law school (fingers crossed for Berkeley). After that... things get a little crazy.

In between quitting my job and starting law school, I'm going to be visiting Italy for 4-6 months. It's my favorite place on earth.

I’m really good at

Hmm, enduring awkward silences. Heh.

I'm quite a good marksman. I'm ranked in junior and senior NRA marksman rankings. I find shooting targets quite enjoyable. I'm also not bad with a bow and arrow.

I'm pretty good at swimming (I was competitive all through High School and in College), though I don't get to do it much anymore (SF doesn't really have a ton of options in that area).

I'm decent at bowling, but it varies. I always have fun with it though.

I'm good with computers. I love technology. We'll just it leave it at that for now, haha.

Finally, language. I love learning new languages and I'm quite good at it.

The first things people usually notice about me

How totally awkward I am. Usually it comes off as funny/endearing, but I'm absolutely convinced it's just awkward. I've embraced it, really.

Also, I've been told I have a nice smile and intense eyes when I dance with someone.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:

I'm reading 4 books right now: Brida (Paolo Coelho, because The Alchemist is probably my favorite book), The Wind Up Bird Chronicles (Haruki Murakami, because it was recommended), God Is Not Great (Christopher Hitchens, because I'd like to know why he is such an angry, albeit generally correct, man), and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith, because... well... it's Jane Austen + Zombies. I mean, c'mon!).

Movies:

This is a difficult question. I'm pretty easy-going when it comes to movies. I like everything from ditzy rom-coms to hardcore action and adventure. The only genre I dislike is scary movies. I don't think I can pick a favorite.

Music:

I'm currently on a Barenaked Ladies kick. I like Ben Folds, Counting Crows, Third Eye Blind, Outkast, Missy Elliott, BNL, Tiziano Ferro... to name a few. I REALLY like Italian music and collegiate a capella (yeah, I know).

Food:

Real Italian food and my mom's Jewish food tie for first place. A close 3rd is Japanese.

My favorite singular food item is the Doughnut.

The six things I could never do without

1) My Friends and Family. Cliche for a reason.
2) My laptop
3) Avocados
4) Wine
5) A good workout
6) The ability to do without

Also, puppies. I love dogs.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My job, which new road bike I'm going to purchase, law school.

Also, why more people don't use the subjunctive mood.

On a typical Friday night I am

Out with my friends. Friday night generally = friends night for me. We go out dancing, drinking, playing trivia, to a movie, exploring new places in the city.

I love my friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm afraid of whole fruit. Inquire within.
