I am easygoing, fun-loving, and a little bit cheeky.

My Self-Summary

I'm just a fun-loving guy...I like to laugh & to make people laugh, even if I have to be the one to act the fool to do so. In fact that's what I think life is all about - laughter! Don't take yourself so seriously...

I LOVE music, without it my world simply could not exist!...I love learning random & esoteric trivia - the more random and/or obtuse, the better!...I enjoy playing sports & video games whenever time allows...I don't watch much TV, and only rarely go to the movies - but when the mood strikes I will pore over my extensive collection of comedy shows from around the world & devour documentaries voraciously...I have a vivid imagination - too vivid at times probably, and as a result I love art, design, creating & creative things - although my freehand artistic skills are sadly not as strong as I'd like them to be, I always find a way to produce what I want one way or another - for instance I LOVE mucking around in photoshop, where literally anything is possible!...And I looove animation - for pretty much the same reason.

In short, my mind works at about a thousand miles an hour, most hours of the day & night & I have far too many hobbies...and as a result I am probably a bit of a 'jack of all trades, master of none' - but whenever I really need or want something done, I will ALWAYS find a way...even if that way is not how 'the experts' would have done it.

I also love to travel and to find & investigate new things & places...even if they're just 'around the corner' - an empty abandoned building, or creepy, interesting cave etc. can potentially be just as fascinating to me as a new city or country...

What I’m doing with my life

I work in an office...it pays the bills. I am definitely not someone that is defined by their vocaton though - Work to live, rather than live to work.

I'd love to go back to Uni to study - but fear that I would become sick of the course before I completed it and want to move onto something else...so at this stage, until I find something I *REALLY* want to dedicate myself to - I am not going to go there.

I’m really good at

...being a MacGyver...if I want something done, I will find a way, even if I have to invent it myself - always thinking outside the square

...talking random (but usually at least interesting or amusing!) crap

...making people laugh (at me or with me - it's your choice!! :P)

...finding new thngs to occupy my time

...staying up late & by proxy: running on minimal sleep

...being obtuse

...snowboarding (No, sadly - not really - but I am MOST truly excellent at snow-crashing!! :)

...losing things

The first things people usually notice about me

'Defino??...Hopefully my quick & sparkling acerbic wit! :P....my energy...my positive outlook on most things.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - anything by Ben Elton, Terry Pratchett, Robert Rankin - but will read most things if I can find the time. Douglas Adams also rocked my world, The Hitchhiker's series, Dirk Gently series & "Last Chance to See..." were all absolutely fantastic reads! Douglas Adams is very sorely missed in my little world :( RIP...Not a big fan of Steven King in general, but even so I do consider The Green Mile & Dark Tower/Gunslinger series as some of my alltime faves.

Movies - anything offbeat - real life stories and dramas BORE me to tears...unless they have an unseen twist along the way - so for instance I love Terry Gilliam films - The Fisher King, Baron Munchausen, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, The Brothers Grimm etc. Oh, and I also love animation - LOVE IT!! Other than that, I like quirky comedies & things that stimulate the imagination generally - such as The Life of Brian, Spaceballs, Twelve Monkeys, Blazing Saddles, Being John Malkovich, Indiana Jones & Star Wars series, etc etc...Lately - I just saw District 9 at the cinemas too and thought it was an EXCELLENT film! Best I've seen @ the cinema in literally ages - a heady mix of action, dark humour, dazzling special effects and a truly thought-provoking plot. I literally left the cinema with my head whirring "Hmmmm - what if??"...I highly & genuinely reccommend this film to anyone! :)

Music - now, this is one of my greatest loves & indulgences in life - and as a result, my interests are many & varied - depending on mood, location, and which way the wind's blowing...Generally I like Punk & Metal though \m/ but the only things I really eschew totally are bubblegum pop-crap, operas & orchestral musical scores - and really heavy speed death metal that is just heavy JUST for the sake of being heavy. The 2 extremes if you will...Particular favourites in no particular order include: Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Massive Attack, Grinspoon, Jurassic 5, Foo Fighters, Powderfinger, old INXS, Daft Punk, David Bowie, Bob Marley, Butterfingers, Audioslave, Regurgitator, Alice In Chains, Faith No More, Soulfly, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The White Stripes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Presets, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Jimi Hendrix, Hed PE, Shihad, Jet, The Living End, aaaand etc etc etc, on & on, ad infinitum ad nauseum.... .. . .. .. .... .......not a day goes by I won't listen to SOME kind of music though.

Food - I actually love to cook @ home & experiment with new taste sensations in the kitchen - I have little time for cookbooks, just experiment & see what happens, it's all part of the culinary experience! If going out not too fussy, but Mexican, seafood, Italian, Thai & a good steak are all particular faves.

The six things I could never do without

Music
My imagination
Nice food
Good company
Laughter
My freedom - of mind & body

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Theories on life, the universe & everything - everything & nothing. My mind moves far too quickly to stay in one spot for too long....but although I mightn't finish thinking on something in one go - I will always come back to things later.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either out or hanging at home with friends - perhaps a few drinks, lots of general silliness & laughs - if I'm out I'll generally be at a pub or a live gig somewhere rather than a club - and if at home, will generally be playing video games or watching some funny stuff or some controversial documentary with frends that will provide interesting debate...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I like cheese.

Also, I use the word 'shenanigan' - or derivitives thereof - far too often...probably...I don't know how to check to be absolutely certain of this though, so if you know of a website or something where I could confirm this little theory of mine definitively - that'd be great.

I have one tattoo & after much procrastination, have finally settled on a design for a 2nd. One more and then I am done....maybe two....ok, call it 3 and be done with it. I may be slightly addicted...

You should message me if

you feel like it and don't take yourself or look at things too seriously...can't say I'm really looking for anything from all of this - not sure how long I'll be here - I read about this site on someone's blog & so it's just more one new thing I'd never done, join a site like this - so thought I'd give it a go...so hell, if you want to say g'day - just say g'day! And if you don't - then don't! Itsallgood, really is as simple as that! :) Hmmmmm - some pretty deep & philosophical zen stuff there, huh?! :P
