Some fixed stars on my horizon...
Absolutely can't stand constantly running Tv... better throw them
out instead of wasted evenings and distracted conversations.
There are times i read a lot of private books and
there are times i read very little but i am always(!) happy about a
stimulus! i must confess i read mainly german literature, tried it
a few times (ok, ulysses might not be the best example since nobody
has read it) but wasn't too exciting... so most of the following
titles will be german, i am sure u can find out the english
From time to time i get hooked on crime-stuff, Henning Mankell,
Stieg Larsson, Ulrich Wickert (yeah, the former german newsguy),
Santiago Gamboa and Donna Leone comes to mind.
Generally i like freaky stories better, especially about philosophy
and travelling people like Nachtzug nach Lissabon, Das
Kartengeheimnis, Der kleine Hobbit, The last of their kind and
electric monk (Douglas Adams in general), Der kleine Prinz,
Erzähler der Nacht (Rafik Schami), ...
On the other side i like books which have a certain science
approach like Liebe ein unordentliches Gefühl (and R.D. Precht),
Fermats letzter Satz (and Simon Sing), Die Welt von gestern (Stefan
Zweig), Deutsche Geschichte (Craig), Computerdenken
Sometimes i had fun with Paulo Cohelo, Haruki Murakami, Terry
Pratchet and Erwin Moser(:)) but i wouldn't call me a fan. And from
the classics i would mention homo faber, dead poets society and
maybe hiob by Roth. Only for drinking i would recommend
Great movies in general combine a mind fucking
story and fresh visuals (which makes it a little harder for movies

story), boondock saints, across the universe, tierra, vicky
cristina barcelona, pulp fiction, Leon the professional, in china
they eat dogs, fear and loathing in LV... some monthy python, lotr,
matrix, godfather, sin city, memento... up to in princess monoke,
city of god, motorcycle diaries, 2046, whale rider.
So summing it up, i wasn't following the latest developments too
close (3D) and would describe my viewing habits as open minded with
a little lower focus on sports-, soft/superficial romance- and
