My self-summary
First off, I would like to say welcome and thanks for visiting my humble profile. I certainly hope it proves to be worth your time. Now without any further ado and all formalities aside... myself-

Arguably my favorite feature about myself (narcissistic though I know that must sound) is that I love fascinating conversations about literally any topic. Please, if you have a random thought, bring it to my attention.

I am intrigued by new, shiny, more cost-effective technologies and concepts in the field of energy, which has led to my going back to school for my masters degree.

I have an odd sense of humor that involves irrational satirical observation and deadpan baldfaced lies. This sense of humor is never absent from my day-to-day interactions (even my writing is often riddled with parenthetical asides).

I love the vicarious feeling of accomplishment that comes along with rooting for a sports team sporting their way to glory.

I really enjoy getting outdoors and doing random exciting activities, but I also enjoy sitting in front of my computer soaking up trivialities. Unfortunately, I do not assign these activities my time in a direct ratio respective to how much I enjoy them.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently working towards a chemical engineering masters at UNM despite no previous experience in the field (I used to be an economist). After working at an energy startup and an energy VC company (in Mongolia, what a dismal country that is), I decided to get into electrical energy storage and am currently being seduced by nanomaterial engineering. End-goal: to start my own energy production/storage company.

I can also typically be found performing in local community theatre musicals.
I’m really good at
Singing and dancing in the rain, overly in-depth discussions, cooking schmancy dinners, making fun cocktails, wasting time on the internet (but who isn't nowadays?), playing the tuba, outwitting my puny opponents in strategic games (of the non-electronic variety), and of course coming up with plausible heists or world domination schemes.
The first things people usually notice about me
That my fabulous sense of style and impeccable manners belie a devious intelligence and mischievous sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh good heavens,
Books: The Count of Monte Cristo, Pride and Prejudice, anything by Rafael Sabatini or Georgette Heyer, Dresden Files, most fantasy (though strangely enough, not G. R. R. Martin), Tolkien...I'm always looking for new suggestions though!

Movies: Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Cary Grant screwballs, Bogey crime dramas, Disney, classic Christmas specials (including Die Hard), anything that can be described using the word swashbuckling, esplodey action popcorn flix, cheesy goofy romcoms, willow, LOTR, Etc.

Shows: TV or Broadway? (Sherlock, Dr. Who, Firefly, TOS, whatever the flash-in-the-pan show-of-the-week is currently in / Les Mis, Anything Goes, Phantom, Guys & Dolls, really pretty much anything that has at least one good song or a halfway decent plot)

Muzak: highly eclectic, but I really love crooners, irish folk, show tunes, and soaring movie themes

Food: I'll cook and eat anything so long as it's delicious
The six things I could never do without
2 avocados (halved, pitted, and peeled)
The juice of 1 lime
2 cloves of garlic (pressed)
3 stalks of fresh cut cilantro (finely chopped)
1/2 small onion (diced)
Salt to taste
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Plot lines for new books/plays/movies/songs that I want to write.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
"My dear fellow, the truth isn't quite the sort of thing one tells to a nice, sweet, refined girl." -O.W., T.I.O.B.E.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–28
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
... you like talking to fellows that can go into extensive detail on what socioeconomic paradigm shifts would occur if magic were real and universally available; or if you dream of someday being serenaded outside your balcony window; or you need someone with whom to paddle down the Rio Grande in search of buried treasure; or you're a pretty cool person in need of a chat.

Seriously though, I think I'm a pretty fascinating individual. If you think so too, feel free to send me a message.
