Does anyone else have a problem with the "like this user" section besides me? I mean I've only answered 160 questions, so I realize OKCupid only knows me 80% well but still...

I look at these profiles, and I am NOTHING like these people. Ok, so we both don't do drugs. We both believe in sex before marriage. Neither of those are particularly important facets of my personality.

Don't believe our match percentages. Here's the best I can offer up on me:

I was asked recently what the purpose of life was, and I replied, "Discussion." I'm always looking to expand my world somewhere. Recently, I've been getting more into professional sports and dancing (I really want to take classes in some area: ballet, ballroom, hip hop, I don't care). I'd love to hear from people who have thought deeply about gender/sexuality, the fine arts, politics, and science. I'm more interested in people who know a lot about stuff I don't than just finding a bunch of people I agree with and patting ourselves on the back.

I don't think that I'm right about things, but I do think I have a unique perspective that's informed by experience and study, especially in the realm of film. I won't tell you what to like/not like; I will tell you my thoughts often though.

In general, I'm considered funny. When I'm not considered funny, it's usually because I'm considered offensive. This is just genetics though. My parents are hilarious.

I'm sensitive. Both positively and negatively. I'm tuned into little things which makes my thoughts on life and film and other things sort of unusual. It also means I can read more into people's words or actions than were intended and get upset.

I'm passionate about the people I care about. Loyalty is a big thing for me.

And I wish I still had a scooter instead of a car.

People have been telling me recently that I'm "following my dream," but it's nothing so prosaic as that. I've recently moved to New Mexico to live with my best friend and make movies, either as part of someone else's production or just the two of us doing what we can in our free time. My "dream" is a lot more complex than my career/passion. No matter what I do with my life, I'm going to be making films or working on films in the time that I have.

My dream involves owning dogs, furnishing a house with things I love, cooking lots of food, and adopting kids with a yet to be named lady. Film is who I am and what I do. I'll always be doing it; it's not a dream.

But I did give up a decent job to move out here, so what I'm doing with my life is pinching pennies and looking for work right now.
