My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Drawn to authentic people, I am always there to listen, and jump on board for epic ideas (yes, lets make up a dance and all wear unicorn rainbow onesies as a surprise flashmob on the wedding reception dancefloor).

I want all the sushi in Vancouver in my mouth, yet I am seriously concerned about how we are globally managing our oceans. I am outside of the mainstream: I question consumption. C'mon, K-cups were a really bad idea, right?

Recovering from a suburban childhood, I enjoy the texture of the city and regularly escape to the woods. I'd love to live closer to the land one day. I believe anything is possible, we just need to get up and do it!

What's important to me? A healthy planet - starting with myself, I enjoy regular exercise and eating well. For me eating well means thinking about where my food is coming from, where it's going, what it does in my body and growing and cooking as much of it as I can. I like watching all sorts of stuff grow. Sure, I grow veggies, fruit, and trees, but people are pretty neat to watch too!

My family and my goddaughter live a little ways away, but I make an effort to visit them regularly.

I'm often one to bare my honest opinion, and I appreciate that in return. During tough times I like to talk it through. I also have a bit of a stubborn streak - it makes me determined to do my own taxes, even though it takes me a while.

Work-wise I am an entrepreneur as well as an employee - a social innovator and a business owner. I help others launch sustainability projects and I organize others to rescue food that would otherwise go to waste. I want to live in a world that makes more sense, living within the lines of natural systems.

What about you?

You've likely heard your friends say that they can't believe that you're still single because you are such a great guy. Indeed, you are:

Comfortable in your in your own skin, you have your shit together. You know which direction you are headed. You boldly ask the important questions, you're engaging in conversation and enjoy discussing just about everything, your eyes and ears are open to the world around you. You like yourself.

You're on a quest to find someone to share the journey.

...And you've managed to read this far! Send me a message and let's see where this could go.

Note: I live in Ottawa, but travel often for work and have set this account up to adjust to where I am :)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being curious. Finding joy and excitement in the most unlikely places.

Truth. Not everyone puts honesty above civility, but truth is so much more interesting than wool over our eyes.

Grabbing the mic when someone needs to. Literally.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
is my enthusiasm. My mind is easily blown, I am fascinated by pattern, irony, how things work, the stories we tell ourselves. I'm going to do my best to hold on to this exuberance for the rest of my days.

Then, perhaps, the long hair?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Oh goodness... Wes Anderson anything. Sci Fi / end of the world movies. Hitchhiker's Guide. Strategy board games like Dominion.

Not so much TV, but... 30 Rock. Suits. Parks and Rec - I am way behind but loving it!

Real food, real local. I like high-fiving the people resonsible for my food supply. More veggies less meat, more maple syrup less sugar, more vinegar less salt, real butter!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My backpack and snacks for the road.
Awe
Community
Open communication
Connection to the natural world
Snuggling
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The nature of our city, the nature in our city, and our darn human nature that keeps on screwing over the rest of nature.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
TED talks and wine
Romping around the city or woods with my dog
Cruising on my bike to a patio, beach, arboretum, pub, dance-off
Planting apple seeds
Looking for you

Ideally, every night is spent with great people, perhaps cooking food, telling stories or playing a board game.

I love exploring truth! We're fascinating people. I'll be as open a book as you'll be - ask a question and I'll delve into an answer, just be ready to go there with me.

And - one more thing: I have another profile on here. I don't want to weird you out, it's not my twin, it's just an older profile with a name I'm not a fan of.

You cracked a smile while reading my profile... but then again, you're the kindof person that smiles a lot :)
