My self-summary
Sculptor, chainsaw carver, wire and leather worker. Father of a teenaged boy.
I'm quiet and reserved yet open and honest. Been working on my interpersonal skills for a long time and it seems to be paying off.
I'm a founding member of an art collective in inner Southeast Portland. My living situation is somewhat unusual. Work space and residence combined. I like to use power tools at odd hours.
I'm calm, collected and open minded. My hearing's a little iffy (too many power tools at odd hours) but I'm a good listener.
I'm also gainfully employed. Been at the same job for 26 years.
I gave up drinking alcohol for good almost a year ago. No great trial and I won't be going back. I won't, however, be a jerk about it to anyone else. My sobriety is my business.
On a related note, my habits and behavior are becoming far less erratic. I'm proud of myself.
Update November 2015: Sober more than two years now. Healthy, strong and wide awake. Best thing I ever did for myself.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it. Well.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at a thousand things. Some things I'm really, really good at. I have strong, dexterous hands and I'm very touchy-feely.
The first things people usually notice about me
My mannish good looks, I guess. Followed by my understated charm. Followed by my considerable intelligence and intuition. Then my artistic ability, which is fairly vast. And then my mannish good looks again.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love Tolkien first. Neal Stephenson. Tom Robbins. William Gibson. Clive Barker. Christopher Moore. Neil Gaiman. Even George R. R. Martin.
I like books about art. Books about philosophy and science. Books about medicine and healing. Books.
I have too many favorite movies to list.
I don't watch much t.v. but I liked 'Archer' and 'Battlestar Galactica' and 'Firefly'... Star Trek in most of it's incarnations. The X files. Scrubs. Twin peaks.
More lately, I've been enjoying 'Sherlock', 'Dr. Who' and 'Fringe' on the old computer, rapidly replacing the big tv I'd sworn off of. I dig public television programs and British Comedy.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
