My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello! My name is Peyton, and I'm re-activating this account after 2 years? 1 year? of not touching it. Sorry if I'm late in getting back to messages, I'm trying to update everything and make sure it's all still 'me'.

I am still a fairly average person. I love reading, writing, videogames, and being active. I'm pretty laid back - one of those 'let bygones be bygones' kind of people, I guess. I avoid things that make me angry, i.e., politics, religious arguments, and roommates that don't clean up after themselves.

I'm a people-watcher at heart, and tend to do a lot of chatting in chatrooms online. Typing quirks, real-life quirks, etc. I dunno, I just like to observe them. Probably has to do with the fact that I'm a writer, and one of my favorite aspects in books is character development/motivation/etc.

Self-summaries are way too broad for me to really go on much more without feeling like I'm ranting, so...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am still employed at a full-time job in New Hampshire. I am once again saving up money and biding my time, though I no longer live with my parents and plans are much more concrete now. I have two roommates engaged to be married in a year (yes, yes it does get awkward, dear lord). I've got a couple of loans I'll be able to pay off completely soon with my savings. I cannot express how dearly I want to live on my own, and am really excited about it. Should be happening sometime between September and June.

I'm also a writer. Currently experiencing what's probably the biggest writers block of my life. Serious projects are on hold while I work on something much less serious but hopefully very rewarding and a little lucrative. Realized in an art class once that I only stopped hating drawing portraits after I drew an intentionally ugly one, so I'm hoping the same philosophy will apply here.

I attended college in PA for a year, still have no plans on returning. I just don't have the patience anymore for being forced to take classes not pertaining at all to what I'm interested in. I still might return, but most of my interests are things that have several learning resources over the internet. I'll be pursuing those before taking any interest in subjecting myself to more student loans. They include: web design/computer programming, Japanese, art, and guitar.

Other than that stuff, I am proudly raising a super-fluff cat named Lady, a hamster named Mojo Jojo.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Still writing, probably.
Procrastinating, definitely.
Being friendly... which is weird to list as a skill but I will because I'm pretty shy and not very outgoing. I'm good at playing the 'people person', which as a result has been known to get me a bit 'people tired'. If that's a thing.
I'm damn good at pan searing salmon fillet.
I'm boss at Left 4 Dead 2.
I've heard I'm a Google wizard.

When I was 9 I decided that there were 3 things that would finally make me a grown-up, so I am very accomplished at the following as well:
Snapping my fingers
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair, I think. It's naturally fluffy and curly. I cut it short enough to be straight a while ago, so it's in the process of growing out. I'd never known the beauty of having a scalp not weighed down by hair, so now that I know how it's supposed to feel I'm taking another crack at long hair.

After that I guess is my eyes? They're probably the one thing about me I'll always love. Blue, outlined in black, crystal-y. I like to try and draw them.

I've also got a couple of tattoos now. Dream-catcher on my ankle doesn't catch the eye much, but the big typewriter between my shoulder-blades tends to stick out when I wear tank-tops.

If we're talking personality, people usually notice that I'm really quiet, if they notice me at all. I'm not the type to get goofy and fun with people until I'm comfortable around them, though I'm always willing to talk to anyone who will strike up a conversation with me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Still all the action movies with all the special effects. All of them. Because explosions and cool tech and realistic looking super powers are my jam.

I no longer have cable tv, buuuut: Fringe, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Parks and Rec, ATLA, Touched, Walking Dead, Trailer Park Boys, That 70s Show, etc.

My favorites are mostly old favorites: Fountainhead by Ayn Rand (character development ftw), Harry Potter by JK Rowling, Shiver by Maggie Steifvater, White Fang by Jack London, etc. I read a lot more fanfiction and blog stories than books these days. I also own a LOT of manga.

Music goes everything from Country to Dubstep. I'm picky about songs, so I don't really gravitate towards a genre or artist... just find songs in particular and get 'em in my library.

Food will always include meat. I am willing to try any and all cooked meat that isn't squishy or fat-textured. I'm a big texture person. And taste. I have a biiiig sweet tooth. Which sucks because I have baaaad enamel. :(
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Something to write/draw with (laptop, paper, pencils, any)

Clear nights warm enough to go out with shorts and tank tops

A good bed

Social interaction with people I love

Strawberry Milk
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Still plot ideas for books I won't write half of. I tend to run it through my head until it evolves into something not completely cliche or until it merges with another similar one.

I daydream a lot these days about living in my own apartment. The freedom of walking around naked. The whimsy of singing aloud whenever I want. The beauty of not tip-toeing around when I wake up at/stay up until 2am. Not having to feel territorial about my stuff. aaaah...

Also random stuff, like how I would totally run more if I had a dog, plans for making food that I won't follow through with, music I want to download, tumblr, blogs I need to catch up on, etc
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out at home or out with coworkers/friends.

I'll drink socially, but have to be in the right mood to drink on my own. I don't enjoy the taste of alcohol or the actual drinking of it at all, so whenever I drink it's to get a good buzz. Favorite drink is a Dizzy Buddah.

I participate in just a small bit of drug use. In particular that one that's been legalized in Colorado. Don't have any real interest in expanding my horizons on that front but enjoy hanging with people around 4:20.

On nights when I'm not feeling social, I'll stay up until ungodly hours of the night playing videogames, chatting online, browsing the web, watching movies, writing, etc. I'm a night owl, so Fridays are especially great for staying up until 3am if I want to.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The story I've set aside my serious books to work on is an erotica novel. Hoping that I can produce something with good plot and lots of sex that will sell enough to put a little extra in my pocket.

...which is kind of ironic. For reasons.

Um... if you want to? I'm horrible at starting conversations, working up the nerve for one, and occasionally at continuing them, so be patient with me.

Unfortunately, I've discovered that I can't do long-distance relationships. They just don't work for me. I need to be able to see people fairly often to get comfortable with them, so if you're not near me, we can only be friends... sorry!

Also good to note that I don't take too well to immediate heavy flirting, though I know that's pretty dumb to say on a dating website. It either ends up coming across as too quick or way too cliche - maybe because I'm a writer? Who knows. Either way, I need to start relatively slow and get to know people before I can really consider them for more than friendship. I'm weird like that.
