Evacuation Plans
Well, it looks like the majority of the Coastal Bend is gearing up
for Hurricane Ike so it has come time for evacuation planning even
here in Corpus. Me and a couple of my friends are packing up and
heading out for San Antonio sometime tomorrow morning, despite
claims that the storm is going to hook north and hit my inland
hometown. I figure it shouldn't be too bad, hopefully, but
who knows. They're closing down the University today at 2pm so that
everyone can get their act together before we're all washed away. I
think I'm pretty much ready to head out, I just need to find a safe
and convenient way of transporting my cat since she doesn't have a
carrier. (Whenever I take her to the vet all I really have to do is
put her in this over the shoulder canvas sling so that she has a
place to sit, she has no desire to escape, oddly enough.) Any
suggestions?
In any case, we're going to be in San Antonio for a couple of days. Anybody want to head out for some coffee while I'm in town?
