My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an easy-going person with a penchant for nerdy endeavors. Though I may be a huge geek sometimes, I like to think that I'm well rounded. Balance is always good, and I find that when I lose sight of that I'm generally not as happy.

Also, if you enjoy personality types, the ENFP description at is very accurate for me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm enjoying life.

I work in IT for a medical company. It can be stressful at times, but overall I enjoy it quite a bit. Besides it's a million times better than some of my past jobs.

Also, getting ready to move into a new apartment in a couple of months. Not going very far since I want to stay close to work, but the complex I'm moving to is a nicer one, and I'm pretty excited about the change (though I'm not looking good forward to the actual move, ugh).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Well, I'd say that I'm very good at dealing with other people. What I mean by that is that I'm good at putting myself in other people's shoes and seeing things from their perspective. Because of this I hardly ever get in fights with people, including significant others, and can usually find common ground in disagreements, even in arguments I'm not a part of. Also, I'm an IT person so general computer shenanigans.

I'm (evidently) not very good at avoiding ending sentences with prepositions, but English rules are meant to be broken anyway. Other than rules concerning incorrectly chosen homophones anyway. If the internet has taught me anything, it's that a misplaced "their" can instill some serious rage in some people. Oh, and I do have some pretty strong feelings regarding the Oxford Comma.

That got off topic.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well, I can't quite remember the first time I met me, so I wouldn't exactly be the best person to ask. So after asking some of my comrades, I got that I am usually laughing and joking around with people, and that I have a "circuitous wit, in that it comes at you sideways sometimes." So there you have it, I laugh all the time and my sense of humor is round. Or something.

I most often read sci-fi/fantasy but I also really enjoy anything to do with history. Also it's pretty easy for me to get engrossed in reading Wikipedia articles about random things I come across that I don't already know in and out. At least that will be the case until I run out of things on that list. Who knows? By the time you read this I may have run out of material there. Anyway, jokes aside, here's a short list of some favorites: Song of Ice and Fire, Dresden Files, Sword of Truth, Chronicles of the Black Company, Way of Kings, and of course Lord of the Rings.

Woefully incomplete list of my favorite movies: Lord of the Rings trilogy, original Star Wars trilogy, Indiana Jones trilogy (is this a trend?), Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy (uh oh), Gladiator (phew), Jurassic Park, Hook, Thor, The Avengers, In Bruges, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Evil Dead II.

I don't really watch cable much, but I do occasionally go on a Netflix binge. Plus there are some shows that I will go to friends houses to watch. Anyway: Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Archer, Doctor Who, Merlin, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, The League, Workaholics, Arrested Development, Black Books, IT Crowd, Firefly, Walking Dead, Vikings, Fringe, Firefly.

My taste in music is too all over the place and changes too much, so I'm just going to list my "Current Favorites" playlist from Spotify, in no particular order.
-Le Disko, Shiny Toy Guns
-Salute Your Solution, Raconteurs
-No Cigar, Millencolin
-Daft Punk is Playing At My House, LCD Soundsystem
-Ca Plane Pour Moi, POTUS
-Goodbye Horses, Venus Infers
-North American Scum, LCD Soundsystem
-The Great Escape, We Are Scientists
-A Praise Chorus, Jimmy Eat World
-Molly's Chambers, Kings of Leon

I've realized that I completely forgot food. I'm not especially particular about food. Some days I'm in the mood for sushi, others I'll be craving a quesadilla. Then there are also days when I just want a burger.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I'll skip the obvious fare (air, water, friends, etc.)

1. A vehicle.
2. Internet Access.
3. My debit card. (I just spent 2 months without a card, and dear lord it's a colossal pain)

And on a more philosophical level:

4. Human interaction.
5. The sense of sight.
6. Spare time.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The conversion from Celsius to Fahrenheit. My car only displays Celsius. Hilarious...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Well, I finally got a job with regular weekday hours so I don't ever work Friday nights anymore!

I guess the most common Friday activity is just chilling out at a friend's place. Saturday is the more likely night for actual plans.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once entertained friends on a roadtrip by explaining the backstory to The Lord of the Rings over the course of about six hours. The friend that was driving agreed to continue his shift as long as I could keep his attention with the story, so I did.
