My self-summary
Ok, so I'm currently living in New Zealand while I'm doing a 3
month internship at the University of Otago (till december).
Originally I'm from Enschede in The Netherlands, where I'll return
in februari (yay, 2 month vacation backpacking through NZ!)
As for the rest of my (probably not so up to date anymore)
summary:
At first I'm very quiet and shy (aaah! new people!), but once you
get to know me I get more loose and more talkative. I consider
myself to be quite funny (although sometimes I use it as a defense
mechanism). I guess most people would call me nerdy, well, blame me
for being passionate about what I do. Oh, and you might blame me
for a lack of other hobbies. I'm still trying to figure out what
I'd like to do with a part of my free time (I'm considering taking
piano or violin lessons for example).
Since a few months I'm fairly busy with my study, and the rest of
my free time (usually in the evening) I tend to watch movies or
tv-series (I especially liked
Scrubs,
Friends,
Dead Like Me and
The IT Crowd). Besides that I
enjoy
photography and
board games.
I'm not the most outgoing type, I tend to prefer smaller groups
(according to most of the Jung personality tests I'm either
INTP or
INTJ (google them if you are
wondering what they are :P)).
As for the other inner working of me I quite agree with the values
you find under 'compare profile', with the notable exception of the
selfishness, although I'm probably more selfish than average I
wouldn't put myself at the far end of the spectrum. And of course
you can look at the tests I did, although I don't hide every test I
disagree with :p.
OkCupid: Now in Dutch!
Lees het maar in het engels, als je dat niet kunt dan is het toch
al hopeloos :p.
What I'm doing with my life
I have a bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, and I'm
currently working on my master's program,
Human Media
Interaction. Professionally I like either useful or fun
technologies, either way it comes down to stuff that none-technical
people can still understand (superficially that is, under the hood
it's all mathematics ^^).
Currently I'm doing an internship at the graphics lab of the
University of Otago in Dunedin, involving lots of fun stuff at a
very relaxed lab :D.
I'm really good at
Technical stuff (i.e. I always break something electronic open
before I consider getting outside help :P). I suppose I'm also
quite handy at building stuff, considering I built 2/3th of the
objects in my room.
Oh, and procrastinating ;).
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
I guess the first thing would be that I'm a quiet person. I'd like
to think the second thing is that I'm passionate about what I do
and what I talk about.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I liked various
Micheal Crichton novels,
currently I'm reading through a number of
Dean Koontz novels (after liking
Life
Expectancy).
Movies: I watch a lot of movies, so it's hard to pick favorites. I
like movies from many different genres: pretty much anything except
horror and the star trek/wars sci-fi stuff :). But for the idea
I'll name some good movies (besides the obvious (LOTR, POTC,
etc...) :P:
Contact,
Cruel Intentions,
Eternal
Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind,
Good Will Hunting,
History Of The
World,
Just
Visiting,
King
Arthur,
Kingdom Of Heaven, any
Monty Python
movie,
National Treasure,
Patch Adams,
Pleasantville,
The Prestige,
Titanic (Yes, I
liked it!),
What Dreams May Come, and
of course any
Pixar
movie (Walleeeeeeeeeee!)
Music: http://www.last.fm/user/frank1985/, or if you are lazy:
rock, some
metal,
soundtracks, relaxing music
(new-agey stuff: enya and the likes), (semi-)classical (mainly
Secret
Garden) and some more
Food: Made myself: 'easy' food (
pasta's, etc.) (I like to cook, but don't
take the time to do it :\ ) From restaurants: I like
Greek food :) (grilled
spicey meat, mjum!)
The six things I could never do without
Oven: I'd miss all the wonderfulness that can be prepared in it
:D.
Teapot: I need my
tea!
Bed: Zzzz.
The fact that
kittens exist in the world: Awwww!
Ambiguity: The main ingredient for humor.
And for the last one a bit more serious, hope: Seriously, who can
live without it?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Right now: how I'm gonna fill in my vacation!
On a typical Friday night I am
At home, watching a movie and/or playing computer games and/or
doing some work.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here
I left quite a bunch of romcom's (or 'chickflics' as people usually
call them) out of my movies list above (I'm quite the sucker for
that sort of stuff actually ^^).
You should message me if
If you like what you read and you don't smoke :). (Come on, I'm
shy, be non-conformist and take the first step as a female!)
