My self-summary
I seek inspiration in film, music, architecture, sarcasm, and avocados. I think critically about the world, have a sense of adventure and know how to have fun. I'm a secret science and comic book geek, and keep a karaoke song list in my back pocket.

I'm a Bay Area native, but have lived in LA, NYC, Paris and try to go on at least one exotic adventure every year.
What I’m doing with my life
I run a video production studio and get to travel to cool places lugging heavy camera gear. I ride my bike as much and as fast as possible, curse the wind and think about the movies I want to make.

I'm planning a trip to Hong Kong/Vietnam and Croatia/Berlin but can't decide which one to do first. I'm also working on a short film about The Walking Dead IP and a feature-length documentary on genealogy and human experience in Japan during WW2, just need at least five years to finish it.
I’m really good at
Losing myself in narrative
Scrabble
Brunch
Parallel parking
Soccer
Eating avocados
Over-peppering my food

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I used to be more of a bookworm, working on it. Classic literature has had the strongest impact on me, but I also enjoy contemporary/non-fiction and graphic novels. Some of my favorites: Anna Karenina, Frankenstein, The Wind-up Bird Chronicle, Lolita, Atlas Shrugged, Tintin, Maus, Sons & Lovers, David Sedaris and the Sunday NYT.

I grew up watching B horror, Hitchcock, Twilight Zone and Monty Python. I prefer classic horror to the "torture porny" stuff. One of my favorite genres is horror-comedy, and I'm a bit of a foreign movie geek (Godard/Truffaut, Wong Kar-wai, Bergman). Some faves: Midnight in Paris, Pan's Labyrinth, Donnie Darko, Shaun of the Dead, Breathless, The Incredibles, Kill Bill, Annie Hall, Planet Terror, Creepshow, Cabin in the Woods, Office Space, Amelie, The Royal Tenenbaums. Obsessed with good writing on shows like 30 Rock, Mad Men, Arrested Development; The Returned is so badass and spooky, plus Mogwai did the soundtrack. The score reminds me of an old Portishead song.

Music is a huge motivation in my life. I go to shows, dance whenever possible and spend money on high-end audio gear. I'm often rocking out in my car to: anything by Jack White, Led Zeppelin, Nine Inch Nails, Kanye West, Portishead, Radiohead, Aesop Rock, The Black Keys, Muse, Die Antwoord, Junior Boys, The Knife, Stars, Tricky, Jay-Z... obsessed with Polica and good synth-pop... and then there's the mellower side of my music collection.
