My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a graduate student/TA at the University of Florida. I am a very talkative, somewhat outgoing person who loves to learn new things and meet interesting people.

I'm mostly interested in meeting new friends and maybe finding a friend with benefits (emphasis on the "friend" part). I'm in a committed, open relationship with a woman and we have an arrangement about relations with the same sex.

I like guys who aren't shallow, who I can do "guy" things with. Fellow gaymers are my ideal guy friends, but I can get along with pretty much anyone who shares my hobbies/interests.

A little about me:

I enjoy good conversation, no matter what the topic, whether it's something as serious as history, art, religion, or science, or something entirely goofy. I thrive on people who have interesting/creative ways of thinking. I can talk about anything with the right person, for hours on end.

I have a sarcastic sense of humor and although I am generally very patient, I strongly dislike contrived rules and herd mentality.

I also enjoy games of all kinds and varieties: sports, card games, board games, role-playing games, or computer/video games. It's been years since I touched the consoles, but I'm an avid PC gamer.

(And finally, I'm very uncomfortable talking about myself!)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working on my Ph.D in Math. Afterwards, I intend to find a job in private industry, either in research, or something completely different, like finance.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
* Telling stories
* Daydreaming for hours
* Math
* Being a complete nerd, usually about the above

My favorite books:

Nonfiction:
The Blank Slate, by Steven Pinker
A Brief History of Time, by Stephen Hawking
The Fabric of the Cosmos, by Brian Greene
History of the Medieval World, by Susan Bauer (looking to expand my history reading, if anyone has suggestions!)
Science Without Numbers, by Hartry Field
(there's a bunch more that are related to school but they have very boring titles)

Fiction:
The Thrawn Trilogy, all by Timothy Zahn
Cloud Atlas, by David Mitchell

My favorite movies:

Encounters at the End of the World
(really, any documentary done/narrated by Herzog is fantastic to me)
The Departed
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Star Wars (the original trilogy)

My favorite shows:

The old Mythbusters (years ago)
Dexter
True Blood
Top Gear
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad

My favorite music:

It varies. I'll listen to almost anything.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Pillows
Hot water
Someone who can make me laugh
Chalk, Pen, or Pencil
Good Friends
Football
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
* Dreams. I love dreaming. I used to keep a dream journal, back when I was obsessed with lucid dreaming.
* The barriers that keep people apart from one another.
* What it means to be a good person. If I do something bad it can bother me for a long time.
* The ideas of remoteness and isolation. I'm not talking about going Thoreau; I'm talking about places or times that are beyond human reach or essentially unknowable.
* The "best" way to do something - anything. Seriously, I'll sit there for twice the time it takes to get something done just trying to figure out the best way to do it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing and enjoying a night with friends, either in or out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I own dice with 20 sides and sometimes I roll them to make imaginary people do things.

Or if you're a gaymer. I would love to meet some new LGBT friends!
