My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I know who I am, and what I want from life.

Such a simple sentence but it has taken me over thirty years and a lot of reflection in order to be able to write it with full confidence for its authenticity. First who I am.

I’m pretty laid back about most things. I tend to take life as it comes, and try not to sweat the small stuff. Sure I fret sometimes but I try to keep things in perspective. I love to talk about anything from a deep philosophical discussion to a funny story. I crave witty and stimulating conversation, but I also love humor of all kinds: crude or high brow it doesn't matter a long as the joke is solid.

I have a pretty strong work ethic, but sometimes struggle with discipline though it has improved quite a bit thanks to graduate school. I'm a secret romantic, a pragmatic idealist, a curious intellectual, and a loyal friend.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Finishing up a Master's of Arts in History, but I'm not planning to stay in academia. I'm looking to start a career either in public service, politics, or in event organizing. I've taken advantage of several opportunities that have come my way this past year, and I'm looking to keep going.

I like bringing people together, building something where nothing was before, meeting new folks, and listening to their stories.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
witty remarks, carrying on a conversation, organizing events, and seeing the bigger picture. I can also make delicious soft scrambled eggs.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a pretty big guy. People always ask me if I've played football. I have broad shoulders, and a solid frame. Recently I've put on some more muscle and trimmed off some of the fat but it's still definitely a work in progress. I've gotten back into a regular physical fitness routine and it's certainly been a rewarding experience. Working out isn't my problem so much as diet. I have a weakness for sweets, and certain foods so I struggle but I'm getting better with it.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Depends on the week. If I'm not working I'm either relaxing at home, or out with friends enjoying dinner and good conversation.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm afraid of two things I did science fair projects on in middle school: sharks and snakes. Fascinated by them but have zero desire to be anywhere near them. Come to think of it I find frogs and lizards disgusting as well. Never played with them as a kid.
