My self-summary
If I were a concoction I’d be a hefty dose of intellectual, several tablespoons of American Ninja warrior, a teaspoon of entrepreneur and a few pinches of Samaritan salt. Dinner conversations with me tend to be far ranging –from labor economics to Chinese film and almost everything in between. It probably helps that I’m an avid reader: the NYTimes, the Economist and the Financial Times are among my most frequently visited websites.

I believe the Romans had it right when they articulated the concept of mens sana in corpore sano (sound mind in a sound body). Gyms are a tad boring to me – I’d much rather be running outside and doing pull-ups / dips in the park. Lying down in the grass after a hard workout and gazing up at the clear sky is one of the best feelings ever.

Have said all of this, I think the most important thing is ultimately virtuous character...something I strive toward everyday. Without it, everything else just falls apart.

Some other facts:

Food-wise I’d describe my preferred diet as some mixture of Mediterranean and Asian cuisines with a heavy emphasis on vegetables and whole grains. (Kalanchandjis is one of my favorite restaurants in DFW.)

When I’m not managing a music-education oriented nonprofit organization in town I write a column in Chinese for an online publication.

Thanks for reading and send me a note if you think we'd be a match or I've piqued your interest in some way!

I've already sprinkled in some commentary in the above section on what I think would make us a good match, but I did save the best for last.

If you appreciate humility, are quick to forgive, and have a loving heart, we'll get along just fine. A kind smile and a penchant for intellectual discussions is a big plus.

Also, FYI: I am currently based in Dallas and travel frequently to Taipei.
