My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If you tl;dr my profile and then message me, I can almost guarantee you I won't respond, because my profile actually *tells* you what I'm most likely to respond to! Shocking, I know.

Anyway.

I'm a strangely cute childcare worker who plays three instruments (not counting the one I was born with) but none of them well. Nevertheless, I'm a musician down to my bones. I love languages, musicals, reading, good animated movies, and long snuggles. I'll sing to you (in another language, even!) if you ask me. And probably even if you don't.

I'm trustworthy and therefore trusting, and I'm not up for dealing with game-players or liars.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Assisting at a daycare, playing flute and sometimes piccolo with a terrible orchestra (no really, they're called that!), practicing piano and bass guitar again (finally!), learning vocal percussion, singing at a monthly open mic, and hitting up karaoke box places on special occasions.

I also run the only Rockapella-devoted blog on Tumblr. I was quite hurt to find out there wasn't one already. It's doitrockapella.tumblr.com if you're curious.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing, picking up languages, caring for people. Sometimes I think I was born a mom. I'm not *actually* a mom, so I spend my caretaking instincts on the kids at work. And hopefully soon on a significant other. ^_^
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My crazy curly hair. And possibly my extreme youthfulness.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Just assume "...and lots of other stuff" at the end of each list. ^_^

Books? I LOVE to reread. Jasper Fforde, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Amy Tan, Harry Potter, the Great Brain series, Uncle John's Bathroom Books, books about various religions, Chicken Soup For The Soul. Watership Down. A few manga. Language learning.

Movies? I LOVE to rewatch. Anything with Jay Chou in it. Anything directed by Miyazaki Hayao or Mel Brooks. Monty Python. Anything that comes from an anime I watch. The Wall. The Princess Bride. Amélie. Run Lola Run. Raise The Red Lantern. King of Masks. Saving Face. I don't do horror and *especially* not zombies, so don't ask.

Shows? See about the rewatching. ^_^ A few anime- Sailor Moon, Death Note, etc. Star Trek:TOS/TNG. The Law and Orders. Homicide: Life on the Street. Oz. Lie To Me. Firefly. Touched by an Angel. (My entire family calls that one my "hokey show". Yeah, so what? :-P) Orange Is The New Black, although I often find myself wanting to punch Piper in the throat. Recent Sherlock and Supernatural addict.

Music? Contemporary a cappella. I used to have a group myself. I've been following Rockapella around since 2003. NIN. Billy Joel. David Bowie. Pink Floyd. Radiohead. Tim Minchin. Jay Chou. Soundtracks in various languages for various musicals. Pretty much anything we do in orchestra, except the majority of the medleys, because those suck.

Food? Good ol' bacon and eggs. Most Japanese food. Do NOT ask me to go near either wasabi or nattou. Edamame is the best snack food EVER. American Chinese food or Chinese Chinese food. I make pretty good tea eggs! Sammiches, especially tuna melts. I bake a MEEEEAN chicken. Chocolate. It's a good thing the local supermarket has relatively inexpensive meat, because I can't stop buying lamb. Also I think egg salad should be considered an addictive substance.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) A portable music player.

2) Rockapella concerts.

3) Some sort of music group to belong to (I'm not picky; I've played bass in a David Bowie tribute band, sung in a contemporary a cappella group, and played flute and piccolo in a community orchestra so far).

4) Children. (When you hang around me, there will be MANY tales of my oddball babies at work.)

5) Yummy food.

6) Reading material.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Orchestra rehearsal. The precious weirdnesses of my munchkins at work. Whether I need to add to my SERIOUS stash of incense. (I love the stuff.) Getting around to taking those Japanese/Mandarin/German/ASL classes that I never have time/money for. ::sigh::

Also, Beethoven was black. Seriously.

"Typical"? I do not know this thing of which you speak. ^_^
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not the world's most private person! I'm likely to tell you pretty much anything you'd like to know.

...you like people who are as full of trivia as a Jeopardy! game, you enjoy music or language (or both!), and if you're of a musical bent (singing/playing/what have you), that gives you a bit of an edge. Just sayin'.

And chances are better than 50% that if I visited your profile and didn't message you, I was either too chicken or couldn't think what to say, so trying me back couldn't hurt.

You SHOULDN'T message me if your message is going to be less than a sentence long, full of misspelled simple words, or if it starts with "Hey sexy" or anything of that type. Or if your location is NOWHERE NEAR ME. (I get messages from people on OTHER CONTINENTS. WTF?) Or if you haven't filled out your profile at ALL and therefore have nothing for me to go look at. I mean, come ON, let's be fair about this, yeah?
