My Notes edit

My self-summary

I like to talk. If you make it through my blathering on this profile, I congratulate you! I am an honest women, I am known for telling it like I see it and not lying about things. I expect the same in return.

I have a career but it does not rule my life, home comes before work in my book. I like to take days off work and take my son to the Denver Aquarium or something cultural. I am a National Park junkie! I blame my parents, they dragged me to every Children's Science Museum there was in the 70s. I'm trying to save up money for my son's dream of taking a trip on the Queen Mary 2.

I'm getting a little irritated that most of my matches that are above 80% are around 27 (sometimes younger)and live in Boulder! Now I don't personally have an issue with guys of that age, but most do not want to be with a 38 yr old woman, lol. I wish I could move to Boulder. Despite my pictures (I hate pictures of myself), people always think I am way younger than I am.

I almost forgot to say what I do for a living - I do Computer Network Security and I used to do software/hardware sys-ad work. I build my own boxes and tinker with my computers sometimes. I only have 3, lol. Turning my attention to genealogy research and working on my photography.

What I'm doing with my life

I finished my Masters last month. I am trying to learn Italian and get my house ready for winter. I am going to Naples, Italy at the beginning of 2009 for a 6 month Navy tour.

I spend way too much time mowing my lawn and doing domestic things when I would rather go out to a movie. I am handy around the house and can re-wire outlets and upgrade computers.

I love cars, used to sell them at one point. I have a Mercedes and a Saab. I love Audis and Beemers, but as long as a guy is happy with his ride, I will be too. Exception: No Datsuns. I saw a guy last month with a new E55 AMG. That is one fine car. I think I've found another goal.

I'm really good at

I am good at organizing and planning things. I plan my vacations a year in advance (can you say anal?). I am a little bit of a clean freak and like things "just so", but not OCD or anything like that. I have weeds in my yard and the dogs sleep anywhere in the house they want.

I am very good at photography and spelling; I don't require that from the man in my life, but it would be welcome to not have to be a human spell-check for them. I almost forgot to say that I like road-biking. My grad work cramped my style for the last 2 years, but next Spring, its on!

While I don't consider myself ambitious, I find that I am drawn to that in men. Tired of being the adult in a relationship, trying to push my man to succeed - I would rather not do that again.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

Blue eyes. That and people think I am funny - I don't really try to be, but the sarcasm just comes out. I have dry sense of humor - I watch The Big Bang Theory and actually get most of the jokes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music - Duran Duran, Bowie, Beatles, Genesis, The Police, Madonna, Roxy Music, Foo Fighters, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, U2, Yes, The Silencers, 80s New Wave stuff, disco (I love the Bee Gee's), classical is ok. I hate country music, blech! I love going to concerts - this year I saw Mark Knopfler, Duran Duran, The Police (twice), Margaret Cho, Eddie Izzard, Apocalyptica (can you say Finnish guys with headbanger hair that play Metallica/Seether on cellos? No, really).

Food - Bacon!!! Bread with real butter (Pappadeaux has the best bread), steak, pastries, pie, caramel, pizza. I enjoy Mexican, Italian, Indian, Turkish (yum), PF Changs version of Chinese (lol), White Castle's. I cannot do hot or spicy food - Taco Bell mild sauce is too hot for me. I suffer for my love of Green Chili - have to go to Pueblo for that whenever I can.

I do not like chocolate, beer, seafood, or coffee. Weird, huh? OK, I will eat chocolate as long as there is some caramel involved.

Movies - The Wedding Planner, Blues Brothers, Caddyshack, Better Off Dead, Fools Rush In, Diehard (love #1 & 3), Ben Stiller comedies, Down Periscope, Star Trek stuff, anything by Mel Brooks.

I tend to favor romantic comedies over more dramatic fare. I absolutely cannot stand Scarface, The Usual Suspects, or Goodfellas, yuck! I do not enjoy gratuitous violence or gore. Yet strangely I liked Frailty.

Not a big fan of the Dumb and Dumber stuff, but if I'm drinking who knows. I haven't seen or read The Notebook and do not ever want to see that horrid Traveling Pants thingee - unless I've been drinking, maybe.

Authors - Patricia Cornwell, Peter Robinson, Peter Straub, John Sandford. Harry Potter is OK. Sci-Fi, fantasy, mystery, romance novels on occasion. I love the "Incarnations of Immortality" series. Secretly, I read People magazine.

The six things I could never do without

My son, my parents, my cars, mint chapstick, Levi's, sex

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I think about travel and sometimes politics. I would like to make the world a better place by funding schools or orphanages in other countries or even just winning Powerball and operating the world's only clean Dairy Queen not staffed by sullen teenagers.

On a typical Friday night I am

Unfortunately, I would probably be cleaning my house. I would prefer to go out w/ friends to movies or something, but that requires more reliable friends than I have now. My friends suck! Need new ones.

Update: Some success in getting better friends, of course they are all in their 20s. So they are iffy about being reliable.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I have actually received a trophy for putt-putt golf. It's in the basement somewhere...

You should message me if

You can spell and have sexy short marine hair. You like big words and won't make fun of me for it.
