My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a writer, freelancer, and former literary non-profiter. Born and bred on LI, I've lived in New York for ten years and travel every chance I get. I recently spent three weeks in Australia (and had a blast) and am planning to visit India in the next year.

I would say more, but growing up I was warned that boys who self-summarize too much go blind.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Writing, reading, researching, and developing programs to bring attention to debut writers and poets. Finding ways to make people read so said writers (myself included) have an audience. Learning how to cook and battling against the ever-expanding empire that is my Netflix queue. Donating blood-- not every day, but whenever the blood people call and ask for a deposit. (Free cookies and juice.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My unfailing charm and remarkable wit. Okay, not really. My height. THEN said charm and wit.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Writing implement
2. Paper
3. Library card
4. Library
5. Passport
6. Endless bowl of chicken pad se ew
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The fate of publishing. The publishing of fate. My last paragraph. My next paragraph. How to be more in the present. The role of cities as bastions of social and technological change. If turmeric really reduces the risk of Alzheimer's disease. Why camel's are such nasty animals. Who is the man who keeps writing "Become Your Dream" all over the city, and if he is actually so prolific or just believes in me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm going to readings or vying for a table at the Comedy Cellar. Working on my fiction. Waging aforementioned battle with Netflix queue.

Let's be honest, if Friday nights were typical no one would look forward to them.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You have a passion for literature, writing, travel, saki, knowledge, Lenny Bruce, documentaries, and/or stand-up comedy. Actually, just be passionate about something. Anything. I find few things as sexy as a great mind and capacity for empathy. The rest is cake.
