My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey there, I'm Ben. I'm a very sincere, optimistic person - I like to believe in the good in people, and finding ways to understanding in conflict. I'm a good listener and a creative thinker, working hard to break into the film industry with my screenwriting. I love the outdoors as much as I love reading many, many books at a time (a weird habit of mine I call "alternate reading"). I come from a family of scientists and doctors, so I'm a bit of an outlier, still searching for my right path in this world, and enjoying life as it comes. I'm somewhere between a really serious socially-conscious intellectual, and a child with a mess of legos. And I'll juts put it out there: I'm living with my parents at the moment while I raise some funds for a film project...looking for a local girl who can commiserate!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I spent the last year studying in Jerusalem, and am now back in New Jersey working on a new screenplay and beginning pre-production on an award-winning sci-fi/fantasy short script of mine that will be shooting this summer in Los Angeles. Before last year in Israel, I was working and living at a number of spiritual retreat centers across America, doing everything from office work to grounds keeping, while writing poetry, short-stories, and screenplays, and meeting lots of very cool people.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Interpretation, speculation, and thinking metaphorically...like a...type of person who's really good...at that. I also like to sculpt and draw, discuss politics, theory, art, history. I'm very well informed about world religions and spirituality, and have studied yoga, tai chi, reiki, and shiatzu massage.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder Crohn's disease when I was 9 years old. Consequently, I was sick - and in and out of hospitals - a lot during my adolescence. After a major surgery at 18* (where they removed a foot of my small intestine), and learning that I was/am allergic/sensitive to gluten (sigh...), I have been symptom free for 11 years and counting!

*yep, I've got a cool scar.
