My Notes edit
My self-summary
"Love is coming to us all!"
Peace to you all :)
L!

Greetings and salutations everyone :)
Ok, time for an another edit.
Well, it turns out that online dating is as harsh if not more-so than the real thing :-D OkCupidites can simultaneously be charming and brutal.. such Savagery :) Anyone read that column Savage Love by Dan Savage ?
I'd here looking to meet a "nice girl" (not too nice :) ).. or, barring that, just looking for friends and some friendly people to associate with. We'll see how viable on-line dating is in due course :)
That being said, I still hold out that love is out there :) So let's have some fun and see what happens.
Don't bother me looking for "casual encounters" - a euphemism if I've ever heard one hehehehe ;)
I'm a college grad with degrees in philosophy and psychology, and I love working in the field with the MR/DD population. Feel free to ask me what that means if you're curious :)
I currently work in retail, as the consideration offered surpasses that which I can get from my preferred field. Unfortunate, but work one needs to eat - and not just ramen noodles :)
It's hubris to think that millions of internet ladies will take the time to read this profile, or even read down this far. So if you're at all interested or curious, fire me off a message - I'm always down for a good conversation and who knows? I just might meet the woman of my dreams yet ;)
Thanks for taking the time to read :)
What I'm doing with my life
Life really is like high school with money :)
With respect to OkCupid - I'm hoping to meet a suitably quality woman of course! My friends keep telling me to stop looking and love will find me. I don't believe them though - This isn't the East where the nail that stands tall gets pounded down. This is the West, where the squeaky wheel gets the grease," so to speak :-D
I'm at a good place in my life right now.
I work, I research, I create and I destroy. Between it all, Adult Swim is the background music which guides my path.
I'm really good at
I'd like to think that I'm able to listen without judging others. Most everyone comes to me with tell me their problems...
Being honest and actually coming out and saying what everyone is thinking. Gets me in trouble :)
Some more interesting things too, but beyond the purview of this box here :)
..and Tetris.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
An intelligent friend I met on here says that my sarcasm screams off the page. I'm not nearly as caustic in real life once I let my guard down ;)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Absalom Absalom, Toni Morrison, Jeremy Bentham, The Good Book, torah, PiHKAL / TiHKAL (one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever had the pleasure to read).. anything by Shulgin or with a nice scientific / qualitative mix.. Textbooks :)
Movies: Natural Born Killers, Requiem for a Dream, Polyester (I'm as classy a guy as John Waters and all of Baltimore!), Fear and Loathing (or most things with Johnny Depp :) ), Harold and Kumar, cult films, Requiem For a Dream , 90's pulp movies, so on and so forth..
Music: Anything acid jazz, Tricky, Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Portishead.. Jazz, Rock and Roll, CLASSICAL (Love classical / baroque / romantic.. Dvorak and any of the greats).. Electronic, APHEX TWIN, FRANK ZAPPA, FRANK BLACK (or Black Francis if that suits you).. Basically I like all types of music, and love being introduced to new groups.
For whatever reason, I've been listening to a lot of Radiohead lately.. I always resisted them because everyone used to heap such praise on them ("like OMG, Radiohead's Paranoid Android is the new Bohemian Rhapsody!"), but it turns out they are rather talented :)
Food?
Love Mideastern, Indian, anything spicy, Sushi, Chinese, Italian, Mexican.. pretty much everything, even English food (some of it.. good pastries!).
Kosher cooking is delicious as well - if you've no idea what that is (or no idea that it can be healthy and delicious!), ask me about it!
I also enjoy cooking - you might want me to make you some chicken Marsala or Salmon with dilled potatoes :)
Burger and fries anyone? I'm down. Wings? Can you tell I'm hungry as I'm writing this?
The six things I could never do without
2) My nephew. I love him so much it's unreal, even though he tries my patience sometimes. But yeah :)
3) The internet. It's wonderful being able to research whatever I don't know about. Love vacuuming up that knowledge. And ya gotta love being to talk to words on a screen, and pretend they're human. You KNOW how much you hate that whole interaction thing :-)
4) Adult Swim
5) A steady job. The only thing worse than working 40-60 hours a week is NOT working 40-60 hours a week. Work validates me and I'm not happy unless I'm "doing something". Been working various jobs continuously since I was 11.
6) Hope.
Oxygen?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lately I spend a lot of time thinking about how to bail out this country from the financial crisis we're experiencing. I know, not that exciting - but it's really a complex problem with many facets and no good, clean cut, easy solution that's fair to all parties involved. "We Shall Overcome" as they say.. but it's a challenge.
The nature of matter and ether..
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here
Disclaimer: Now that it's out there, said things are no longer private :)
You should message me if
No body issues please :) I don't care what size you are, all women are beautiful - just leave your issues at the door, if you could :)
Again, thank you very much for taking the time to read this - this is the best and most accurate representation of myself that I can squeeze out :)
Blessed be.
