I am intellegent, perceptive, and on your mind now.
My Self-Summary
Well let's do it like this:
1.(11/9/2010) Honestly, I'm a little jaded these days. Of the many
wonderful women out there, only a rare few do I feel the innate
connection that I need to have. Of those, almost all of them are
married, logistically impossible, or otherwise unobtainable. What I
want is a girl that is attractive, smart, and makes sense to me
(and I her) on various levels. I like to try and be focused, but
relaxed, and I sometimes have a hard time with people who feel they
need to stress about anything and everything to be productive.
Also, if you're a runner (in the mental/emotional sense) we
probably won't work. I like to address things and work them out,
people who run away at the first sign of difficulty probably aren't
going to be very compatible with me. I've been looking for the
right person, It's been three years since my last serious
relationship and while I operate just fine on my own, I'm not
getting any younger and I want to take the next step. Will I find
that on a free online dating site? Probably not, but it can't hurt
to try.
The paragraphs below this are older and outdated but most of it
still applies. :)
2. I'm not much of a message writer these days. So, if I come and
check out your profile (stalk you) and you don't see a message,
don't assume I think you're unattractive or I didn't like what I
read. At this point, nearly (not all, there are those special few
that I so covet) all of the messages I actually spend time on and
write out coherent messages for go ignored or lost in the sea of
"lolz ur hawt!" messages from the fifty thousand other men trying
to convince you they are studs by offering to show you their
penises. So, I ask that if YOU find me ME appealing, drop me a
line. Even one sentence saying "Hey! Write me! I'd like to talk to
you!" would suffice. And if I'm thinking there is some potential,
I'll do the work from there.
-and-
3. I *AM* looking for a girlfriend (more or less). However, you
should be warned that I rely on a certain feeling, a special sort
of connection if you will, to tell if that person is possibly long
term. I know nobody is perfect (I'm not even close), but there are
imperfections I can live and others I can't. And when it comes to a
long-term relationship I mean LONG TERM so I'm not willing to
compromise. It wouldn't be fair to either of us. But know if I
commit to you, I really am committing, not just recklessly tossing
around strong words like "love". Also, sometimes these things take
time, so if "IT" is there but the attachment doesn't form right
away, we should hang out, you never know what could happen over
time.
All that said, if you're interested in being friends, or just
casually dating/hanging out sometimes (no, not necessarily sex, I
know you assumed that's what I meant) then don't worry, I'm open, I
love friends, and I don't discriminate against anyone for almost
anything. Almost.
For those of you that follow the hardcore personality tests, I'm an
ENTP (Extroverted,
iNtuitive, Thinking, Perceiving.) This further categorizes me as a
"Rational" and an "Inventor". As much as I don't like to label
myself, I have to admit, this was pretty accurate. You should try
it, or, at least Wiki it so you know what I'm talking about.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm now the Creative/Art Director for a Martial Arts consulting
company. It's closer to my dream job, and I like it, and I like the
people I work with. It also allows me to build a professional
portfolio. It pays decent but only affords part-time hours for now
so I'm still looking for something to fill in the rest of my
working hours.
My time is split between work, friends, and
Capoeira. It's important that whoever
bothers to read this understands that Capoeira is more then a hobby
to me, it's what I do and I spend a LOT of time with those people
who have become my family. So my ideal match would not necessarily
have to do it, but hopefully would have an understanding of why I
spend as much time there as I do and be willing to mingle with my
Capoeira family. In the past people have gotten a bit jealous of
the time I spend there.
I try to run fairly often (Ran the 10k at Disney just recently) and
I'm attempting to get back in the gym to supplement my Capoeira
training.
I’m really good at
In no particular order:
Student mentality. Affection. Sex (yes, don't we all say that..)
Drinking. Cooking. Butchering the English language (but at least I
type my sentences.) Talking about anything and everything, and
thinking about more than that. Digital Art. Ideas. Creativity.
Building things. Figuring things out. Writing. Knowing.
Understanding.
Oh, and my
Capoeira is slowly improving. Give me a
few years, I'll be "really good" at that too.

The first things people usually notice about me
Oh I don't know any more. The hair is back to it's natural but in a
weird way "blond" color, so probably that and the eyes? Or some
part of my moderately in-shape physique.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
*Books*:
Most anything by
Anne Rice or
Orson Scott Card. Star Wars
books. Anything (poetry or otherwise) written by
Robert Frost. The Secret, and
various stuff by mainstream folks like
Stephen King,
C.S. Lewis, and
Micheal Crichton.
I'm a sucker for GOOD Sci-Fi/Adventure anyway.
*Movies*:
Braveheart
(Probably my favorite overall.)
The Princess Bride (Close
second.)
X-Men
movies (Although the third was massively disappointing.)
Batman (The first two by Tim
Burton and then the new ones are best.)
Harry Potter movies,
Narnia,
The Golden Compass,
Into the
Wild,
Iron
Man movies, etc. You get the idea, but I can watch darn near
anything.
*MUSIC* (I can't believe I left this out originally.)
"Make you wanna run around naked... cause' you know it looks good
on you.."
My all time favorite is the
Dave Matthews Band and really
anything Dave does is great whether it be a solo performance/album
or a duo tour with
Tim Reynolds. But when he's with
the band, they are all such talented musicians that seeing them
live is one of the most amazing musical shows you'll see in my
humble opinion.
Lately I've been hooked on, and adopted "Let it Rock" as a personal
theme song. It's just too good.
"Now the son's discraced. He, who knew his father when he cursed
his name. Turned, and chased the dollar. But it broke his heart, so
he stuck his middle finger to the world, to the world, to the
world..."
Beyond that I'm a fan of a lot of mainstream stuff like
Counting Crows,
Rob Thomas
and/or
Matchbox20,
Pearl Jam,
Linkin Park,
Fort Minor,
Incubus,
Shakira,
The Fray,
Eminem,
Jay-Z,
Ludacris,
Nickelback, etc. I can pretty much
listen to anything, and I like discovering new music. The only
thing I have trouble with is country music, but it's getting better
and I've been known to slap on some old school
Charlie Daniels or
Johnny Cash
from time to time. But I suppose that's more redneck.
*Food*
I am a carnivore.
My all time favorite is a
Japanese dish called "
Shabu-Shabu". I have an
unhealthy addiction to
Ponzu Sauce.
Steak,
Cheese (I love most cheeses),
Italian (Alfredo, Pasta,
Pizza, etc.)
Seafood,
Thai,
Mexican, Spicy Foods, Frank's Hot Sauce,
etc. I can typically find something good on any menu.
*Drinks* (I felt the need to add this.)
Vodka is my main
drink (Often with Red Bull, Cranberry Juice, or whatever I can
find.) GOOD
Tequila (Stiff Margaritas.) 100 proof
Southern
Comfort Shots. I'm pretty universal here too, except I don't
like really low quality stuff and I'm not a big beer drinker. I'll
occasionally have a Corona. I'm a pretty
rad bartender.
The six things I could never do without
Hmmm.. Friends, Awareness, Family (not just blood), Meaning, Good
Times, Music.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the past, where I'm going, what is meant, and am I on the
right path? Sometimes I feel like my best and most fun days are
behind me, but then I remember that our minds embellish the things
we have lost or can no longer have, so I work very hard to make
sure that my current days are the best. Things shift, and all new
possibilities open up. I'm am rarely bored. I understand a lot of
things that many people don't involving connections between people
and the sort of futures they can create. Naturally.. the only
person I'm not so good at predicting things for is myself.
On a typical Friday night I am
Pretty open! I sometimes do Capoeira on Saturday morning but it's
not essential since I go all week. Having a few drinks, catching a
movie, pool, bowling, or any sort of gathering with great friends.
So would a quiet (or not so quiet) night at home with the right
person.
Saturday is typically the night I get blasted if it happens over
the weekend. On average it's about every fifth week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I've pretty much already mentioned it above. You want to know
something? Ask me. I don't care how bizarre, I'll likely answer it,
I have little to hide.
You should message me if
I'm a guy on OkCupid... this means I get like.. maybe 10 messages a
week. Please feel free to bring this average up! ;)
I admit, I get lazy with both sending and returning messages, but
if you manage to intrigue me and I like what I see from the get-go,
it may help motivate me. Sometimes I'll read through a sender's
profile and feel like it's not going to work out for whatever
reason. So don't get all down on yourself if I don't respond. Well
all have our strengths and weaknesses, and I need to find somebody
with the ones that compliment mine. :)
OH! And if my IM is off. Don't be offended. I don't turn it on
often because I forget about it and feel bad when you try to IM me
and I'm off doing something else. And honestly I hate in-browser
chat programs anyway, let's message some and I'll give you my AIM.
:P
