My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey, I'm Jon and I live in Rockford, IL and I graduated from Auburn High School in 2007. In my free time like to be lazy and do stuff like play video games, watch movies, listen to music, or roam the internets. I also am a craft beer enthusiast. Don't mistake that as me being an alcoholic, I drink primarily for the taste. Might sound odd, but I'm not BSing you, I promise. I've also gotten into homebrewing recently which I find to be a very rewarding hobby.

As far as my personality goes, I'm definitely a bit of an introvert but I can open up to people pretty easily most of the time. Once I'm opened up, that is when you see who I truly am. I can be a bit cynical at times, but I don't let that get in the way too much. I am an optimist when things look good just as I'm a skeptic when stuff seems a little off. Overall I try to be a nice guy even to those who don't particularly deserve it.

I have a very wide open sense of humor. I love making people laugh... I'm pretty good at making myself laugh, but that's probably not worth boasting about.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a full time bartender right now. It's not a job I ever thought I would be good at, being a relatively quiet and reserved person. Yet it seems I have the right disposition for it. It's not an occupation I see becoming my career, but it pays the bills and the experience seems to have made me a more confident, social, and I guess a better person overall. Even more importantly, I've met and heard stories from people of all walks of life. People who have made mistakes and are down on their luck, as well as people who have figured out how to live the dream. It's been a good source of motivation, wisdom, and has put a lot of things into perspective for me. I'm grateful for getting this opportunity I otherwise never would have.

As far as education goes, I'd like to go back to college soon and study business/marketing in order to one day have the know-how to manage a business of my own.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Getting along with people, as long as they don't make it hard for me (by being assholes/obnoxious/unfunny).

Keeping promises. Generally I always keep my word. If I say I'll meet someone somewhere, I'll always put in the effort to get there when I say I will. If I say I'll pay someone back, I will (although I usually hate borrowing money from people). If someone tells me to keep a secret, I won't tell anyone of it (unless I feel the secret is harmful to stay a secret).

Being a nerd. One of my main hobbies is hitting people with foam representations of medieval weaponry, A.K.A Belegarth. Need I say more? I'm a nerd so the answer is "Of course I should." I'm a gamer in many senses of the word. PC games, console games, board games, card games, role playing games, war games, all of the games. Not games of chance though. Especially gambling, that's stupid.

Being skeptical. I can smell bullshit from a pig farm a mile away. Actually, that would probably pretty difficult. Maybe I'm not really as skeptical as I think I am. Maybe everything is a lie...

Being modest. That makes me pretty freaking awesome. Am I right, or am I right? Of course I am.

Making people LOL. I don't know why people laugh at some of my horrible jokes. I mean some people are deaf and can't even hear what I'm saying. Damn... I must be really funny. Or at least funny looking...

Eating. I like food. I like it so much that I usually eat more than I should. Sometimes more than I should be physically capable of fitting inside my digestive system. I might have a wormhole in my stomach.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The glowing aura of light that envelopes my entire body, acting as a beacon for mankind. Did I mention I'm modest? They tend to notice that too.

Joking aside, I'd say probably my height and how quiet I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I'm mostly into fantasy and sci-fi. I go for some graphic novels (big boy comic books) such as The Walking Dead, The Watchmen...

Movies: I like alot of them. Mainly I enjoy comedies, actions, thrillers, and horror films. I especially like any movie that contain gratuitous amounts of epicness. Lord of the Rings, 300, Braveheart, etc. I'm also a sucker for sappy inspirational movies such as Forrest Gump and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button... Oh and I like a lot of documentaries.

TV: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, Parks and Recreation... Yeah... You know, all those shows that seem to be adored by everyone. I'm real original. Oh, I also like shows about food. Specifically ones where fat guys go all over the world stuffing their faces with anything they get their hands on. There seems to be a lot of those.

Music: I listen mostly to metal. My current favorite bands include God Forbid, Amon Amarth, Protest The Hero, and Symphony X. Aside from metal, I also enjoy classical, prog rock, and good video game music. I love going to concerts, but don't get to go to as many as I use to.

Food: I like food. A lot. Maybe a little too much sometimes... Ok... all the time. I don't believe in having a favorite food. That's like picking a favorite child. It's just not right. I tend to love anything delicious.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The universe, the state of the world, the people in my life, my future... Food... and beer too.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Almost always working. Fridays are usually my big night at my bar. If I'm not working, I must have had something pretty important to do to get it off. At least I have Saturdays and Sundays off.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Lately I feel like I have been losing the person that I liked to be. I've been becoming increasingly cynical and it seems like I get pissed off and annoyed easier than I use to. I think I just need to have a person in my life that will bring my good side back out.
