My self-summary
I'm a generally quiet individual around people I'm not familiar with, but I open up easily with those that share common interests.

If I can have a day with some combination of friends, good music, video or board games, exploring new places or a good meal then I consider it a win.

Had my eyes shot with lasers last year, so I don't wear glasses anymore.

I just moved to the area in mid July and I only know a few people here so I'm looking to expand my social circle a bit.

Self summaries are weird. Cyanide & Happiness sums up my sense of humor pretty well.

Currently considering rewriting my profile entirely in haiku format because reasons. Feel free to send me senseless haikus.

Send me a haiku!
It doesn't need to make sense
Sasquatch banana.
What I’m doing with my life
Stuff, and from time to time I do things. Mostly stuff though.

I am also in the Navy. I have never been on a ship. Figure that shit out.
I’m really good at
Listening and calming people down. I'm usually the mediator between my friends. It's not that I jump into peoples problems and business or anything, but a lot of them just tend to gravitate towards me for advice. I have had a few different people tell me that I have a way of calming them down. They never seem to be able to explain it, so I don't really understand what it is that I do, but it is a quality I like because I don't like seeing my friends upset.

Finding humor in awkward or bad situations. Creating awkward situations.
The first things people usually notice about me
Lately I've been getting a lot of "Oh my god you're so skinny! If you turn sideways it's like you disappear!" Is it now? Is it really? If that were the case I'd be using this super power for way cooler things than going to work every day, trust me.

I have also been told I have a well shaped head. Thanks?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers, Warbreaker and Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson, The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss, The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. I enjoy a good fantasy series. Can you tell?

Movies: The Chumscrubber, Donnie Darko, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Brick, Memento, Battle Royal, Pan's Labyrinth, Snatch, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, L4yer Cake, The Goonies, Assassination of a High School President (Probably my favorite Bruce Willis role of all time).

Shows: South Park, Firefly, Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory I'm not much of a TV guy. I don't have cable or satellite hooked up, I just catch things online when I'm up for it.

Music: I listen to a lot of EDM / Rock / Metal. I've been on a huge instrumental kick lately. Some of my favorites from that are Sithu Aye, God Is An Astronaut, Collapse Under The Empire & Scale The Summit.

Food: My absolute favorite is Italian. I love a good pasta. I used to be pretty picky about what I eat, but I've been trying to branch out and try new things. I still don't think I'll ever be able to eat seafood though. I don't know why but it all tastes vile.
The six things I could never do without
1) Family/Friends - I know that's ridiculously stereotypical, but it's true. I love those people to death and they've been there for me whenever I really needed it. I couldn't do without them.

2) Time to unwind

3) Music and a good set of headphones

4) Humor., that's pretty much it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I don't really know how to answer this...

My mind wanders off onto so many random tangents.

New tattoo ideas.
Why does OKC only recognize dogs and cats as pets?
How many people will check the pets option now?
What in the hell rhymes with purple?
Will they ever make hover-boards that can travel across water without power?
Bacon. Always bacon.
On a typical Friday night I am
Lately I've been a lot less inclined to go out. I'm really a much bigger fan of having a few friends over for a game night or going over to someone else's house for the same deal. If I can't get something like that going I'll more than likely watch a movie or three.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wont get into private details here like I'm supposed to, but I will tell you an odd fear I have:

Whenever I'm walking in the woods (especially if it's dark) I have a fear that I am going to trip on something and impale myself on a sharp stick. This is not how I want to exit the world.

That's not an unfounded fear either. While it wasn't a sharp and painful stick, I have fallen into a hole while cutting through the woods and almost broken my leg. Perhaps I should simply avoid wooded areas....hmmm (I don't of course, they're just too much fun!)
You should message me if
Because the idea that men should always be the first one to send the message is tiresome and needs to die in a fire. Down with the system! Stick it to the man! All that shit! Yeah! \m/

If you're an open-minded individual. I can't stress that enough. It's great if someone has their own opinion, but it's even better if someone recognizes that their opinion is not the only one in the world. Not everyone is the same and they never will be. If you are ok with that, and openly embrace it, then I think you and I will get along just fine.

If you understand what my username is referring to you get massive bonus points. (A quick hint: The answer is not as obvious as Confucius, and those who had a childhood involving video games have a nice head start. Think SNES era.)

I love suggestions about new music to listen to.

Most important: If you actually read my profile and can give me more than a "Hey what's up?".
