Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I find it rather annoying that every other time I seem to find
someone of interest on this site that their inbox is full. But in
Hi, I'm Jarrah!
Everyone tells me I'm one of the most laid back guys they know,
however I have a good work ethic for when it's time to get down to
business (which may or may not involve defeating the huns). I don't
really believe in beating around the bush or avoiding problems
unless it's a particularly fragile issue. I can be stubborn
sometimes (well, most of the time ;P) but I try to keep an open
To put it bluntly, I'm a good guy with more confidence than most
and I'm not afraid to flaunt it. (but in a playful way ;D )
I'm real big on video games and table top games, It's really more
of a heavily indulged hobby that's turning into a career.
I enjoy getting out on occasion with friends or sometimes just by
myself when I have some downtime. Otherwise I'm pretty content just
being a homebody and staying indoors playing games online with
friends or otherwise.
I'm not always the most talkative person but I'm always willing to
give an honest opinion. I enjoy listening to people and if prompted
give advice or my own two cents. I'm never afraid to laugh or at
least show that I find something comical, if I think something's
particularly silly I usually make it a point to say such.
If you're going to expect anything out of me, expect me to be
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently working for a company in downtown Sarasota called
BioLucid as a CG Artist. The company specializes in medical
animation and they signed me on because they want to do more with
video game technologies.
Although I enjoy the job for the most part, I eventually want to
work for a game development studio like Double Fine or even Valve
or Firaxis. Probably like ten years or so into the future I want to
start my own game development studio (probably whenever the
industry starts getting out of the downswing it's currently
I'm also going to SCF part time to get an AA with a specialization
in business. I figured it'd help when I start looking into starting
up my studio.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
From best to worst in my honest opinion:
CG Arts (considering it's the one thing I get paid to do)
Stage combat fighting (Because it's a hobby I kind of get paid to
Daydreaming (I daydream a lot)
Coming up with ideas
Being kind of athletic
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've also been told I have nice eyes and a very calm demeanor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I'm not much of a book worm. I do much more light reading like
articles, interviews and graphic novels/comic type stuff. Scott
Pilgrim is probably the one series I've most enjoyed recently
Movies; I like most types of movies, ranging from musicals to
comedies to the occasional horror film. Some of my favorite movies
are the Royal Tenenbaums; 500 days of Summer (that movie got em
right in the post break up angst, haven't really seen it since
though); South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut; V for Vendetta, the
original Star Wars trilogy, The Lord of The Rings trilogy, The
Blues Brothers, Sweeney Todd, How to Train Your Dragon, Kickass one
and two, and The Avengers.
Thanks to Netflix I've started watched a few tv shows, but the only
series I've watched to completion is Arrested Development.
Currently watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Supernatural
and a few other animes.
As far as music goes, I'm pretty much a classic metal head and
classic rock type of guy. I practically consider pop culture to be
the bane of my existence. However, there are a few exceptions like
Mumford and Sons and stuff from the 90's like Alice in Chains and
The Offspring. One band I've really been into lately is called
Nekrogoblikon (goblin thrash metal, look it up, it's awesome) as
well as Anamanaguchi and Diablo Swing Orchestra (swing/jazz metal,
also awesome). Otherwise I listen to a lot of video game soundtrack
stuff and songs from the 70's-80's.
As for food, Pizza's my favorite. I also really enjoy Thai and
hispanic food, as well as most homestyle type foods (mashed
potatoes, baked chicken, etc.). I'm practically a carnivore as
well, and often poke fun at vegans and vegetarians (you've been
I'm gonna put video games and board games here too since it seems
applicable. As far as genres go, I really enjoy a good strategy
game. Anything ranging from chess, to SC2, WC3 or the Civ series to
a range of board games like Stratego, Settlers of Catan and a slew
of others. Me and my friends are really into League of Legends
right now and are trying to find an MMO to replace WoW since it's
gotten so shitty (atm it may eb archage).
I still enjoy more mainstream games though like the halo series and
any smash bros. game. As far as single player experiences my
favorite games have been made by Double Fine (Brutal Legend and
Yes, as said before I am a big gamer, and to be honest I'm looking
for a girl who's at least into games. You don't have to be a huge
gamer but it definitely helps the closer you are to being such.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A computer, unless I decide to go with a different career
A mild-cool temperature (I hate the heat).
Something that can keep time.
Some sort of alarm, otherwise I'd probably end up sleeping the
whole day XD.
A comfortable chair of some sort, my back bothers me
Lastly I'd say Skype, just because it keeps communication with all
my high school and college friends a lot easier.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Heavier things than I'd prefer for a day to day basis, like
religion and interpersonal communication (how and why people
communicate) stuff, as well as the more common worries. If you're
really so curious, feel free to ask! :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Up in Tampa swinging plastic lightsabers and pretending I'm someone
else. It's pretty good fun.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a LARPer, both in my spare time and professionally. I do Star
Wars Larp on USF campus in Tampa and I also do the Sarasota
Medieval Faire as a stage combat fighter (which I get paid
I also cosplay when I get the chance, so far I've been Spike
Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop and Jay from anything Jay and Silent Bob
have been in.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Congratulations! You made it to the end of my probably needlessly
long profile, here's a cookie.
For the most part I'm just looking to meet and/or date people,
unless I can see you being the "one and only".
However, on the flip side I kind of hate being single. In such, if
you live in or near the Sarasota area and are interested in a free
dinner (I insist) at a restaurant we'd choose together, feel free
to let me know! It doesn't have to be anything big or fancy, I just
think it'd be nice to go out on a blind date with little
expectations every so often.
But if you'd rather just send me a message and chit chat I'm cool
with that too XD .
