My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well, let's see. I'm an honest guy, and by honest I don't mean 'brutally honest, douche-like cretin', I mean someone who does a decent to good job at balancing tact with plain answers.

I do love to write stories, and I do thrive on other people's opinions about what I write (so far, the majority like my tales are liked, and I wouldn't mind sharing some to interested parties on here) as it should be. I'm a Sci-Fi story kind of guy, but I'm intimidated on starting fantasy because frankly I want it to be good, think a universe with the scope of ASOIAF, the style of DA:O (Which I believe was inspired by ASOIAF), with..see, that sounds unoriginal. But I digress.

I like to be funny, for my own benefit and I think the world could use a bit more simple humor.

Oh, and I'm bloody flippin' stubborn. It's helped me so far and I'm not the type to be a Cato-esque brutally honest man, so I'm very glad for that.

I suppose a tl;dr: Honest, Fair, Humorous
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now? Finally able to start getting down to a proper weight for one, coming up with new or improved ideas for two.

I'm no codemonkey so I'm not focusing on programming solely, but Python or C# are languages I'd like to have a basic understanding in by the end of 2013. Concerning my major at UL, I really should work to get all the new knowledge of computers and software I can learn.

Other than that, device building, repurposing, reading, writing (I love to read or write a good hard sci-fi story) and trying to get my money to work for me. Used to play video games, but honestly aside from TR2N Origins and some Xbox FPS/hack n' slashes, I'm tired of video games. However, the idea of virtual environments is even more fascinating to me than ever.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing. I was told so and I think so too, it's a talent of mine. Am I the best? No, but I love to- and do well at- writing stories, papers, anything.

Listening. Corny and cliche (I need to memorize the alt code for the accented e) I know, but it's something that was forced on me at first, until I realized how many people like someone to genuinely listen to them. Hell some of the best conversations I've had yet have been at a Bus Stop (twice) or on an airplane (Really, a great place to shoot the shit).

What I'm trying to become proficient in, are simple card games, board games like Risk or simpler ones I've forgotten, and woodcarving. Work in progress, but a goal. Also, lately I've picked up analog engineering in the practice of assistance rigs for strenuous tasks. (I'm designing a simple arm brace and like to use big largely unneeded words with things like this)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My Kramer hair if unkempt (Kramer actually is small time compared to me)

If not, looks-wise, my glasses (Weight is obviously first, but that's, well, obvious)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: A Song of Ice and Fire (I have to say, it's my favorite fantasy epic I've read. Hopefully Book Six comes out soon, or GERM gets immortality). Hard sci-fi is my favorite genre, the EVE online universe is a good example of a recent example of the genre. Anything with a plausible to realistic interpretation of scientific principles to explain the sci-fi is a plus for me.

Movies: Yeesh. I'll just list five movies I like, I can't pick favorites well.

Gladiator (I actually think this is my favorite, especially the end. It actually made me cry)
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Iron Man
Godzilla and other classic monster movies (Sometimes you want a cheesy, corny movie with breath lasers and mecha-(MAIN CHARACTER)s)

Shows: Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory (I know, I know, like it or hate it, but aside from the excessive laugh track, I chuckle watching it), Two and a Half men pre Kutcher, almost anything on a PBS station

Music: I can safely say any genre. Even Dubstep, even Screamo. Some songs there I like, but my favorite genres are classic rock, ambient music, electro-swing (and regular swing), and older rap

Food: Dammit I love Louisiana but why does our food have to be so freakin' terrible for the body! Boudin, Crawfish, Gumbo, gah. But I do eat healthy whenever possible, and I do enjoy spinach salads, various vegetarian cuisine, seafood (salmon in particular), and ICE drinks occasionally, mostly water though.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My Steely Dan CD
Something to write with and on
Some old electronics/mechanical bits to tinker with
Contact with sentient life forms (leaving that vague for the aliens)
My legs/eyes (I love walking and ogling)

Well only five things then
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Politics (don't worry, I'm not rabid), making small bits of cash through mutual funds/Bitcoin/etc, conceptual designs of software and mechanics
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Riding around the streets, maybe go find a nice place to park and sit at. River Ranch is fun to look at and walk around at night Otherwise, learning a programming language, writing, school, job, designing creations.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'll avoid what I previously wrote in here, that's between me and my theoretical therapist.

I really, really at times just want to drop everything. Fuck it, go live in the woods (holy hell I think I dreamt typing these very words a month ago), enjoy myself with simple pleasures, and watch society from afar. What stops me is knowing that it'd be tough beyond my ability to really believe (though I'd still give it a go if I felt I needed to), and that there is opportunity here in society, even if it's seemingly harder and harder to grasp.

The hard bit. Message me, if you want to talk to someone who likes to meet new people, wants to form connections for any and all reasons, if you like to trade music/literature/discussion, or if you want to do something if you live nearby. That about sums me up, as best as you can sum up something as complex as a person with words and a webpage.
